“Great hotel for couple's Disney vacation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2012

The Anaheim Marriott was a great choice for our romantic 9 day California theme park vacation. It's located across the street from the Disney parks with excellent $5/person/day shuttle service, close to Knotts Berry Farm and 2 very good outlet malls, walking distance to restaurants, convenience stores, and Anaheim Garden Walk. Hotel itself had excellent service and housekeeping, and a tasty menu in the lobby restaurant. I would recommend this hotel for couples, and families as well.

This hotel is expensive and classified as a 4 star hotel. Given the amenities and quality of the rooms, it is a 3 star hotel. It is nice but not upscale in any way imaginable. The room decor was very plain and the toiletries were very basic and actually smell disgusting. Whoever designed the disgusting orange ginger toiletries for Marriott has bad taste. They smell so bad and I do not want to use them. In general, Marriott hotels tend to be dated and have cheap toiletries. This hotel is slightly better than the average Marriott. On a positive note, the staff was very friendly and helpful.

We have tried our hand at most of the major hotels in the Anaheim area, visiting 5-6 times per year (combination of Disneyland trips, occasional business, and frequent basketball tournament for our boys). This time around, stayed at the Marriott hotel convention center. The room was tight and dated, pool aged, and self-parking was quite a trek from the lobby. Whether traveling for business or pleasure, there are far better choices for the price. If you prefer staying at Marriott properties, I’d definitely recommend heading down the road a bit and staying at Marriott Suites which is a much better value.

Stayed here in December of 2012. Was a little dissatisfied with two areas. The pillows are old, small, and I had to request more. Secondly the room just did not seem up to a typical Marriott standard. The carpet seems dated, the acoustic ceiling is dated, and the furniture feels piece mealed.

Positives for this property would be the happy and helpful staff. They are all engaging and everyone I have had the pleasure to meet has gone the extra mile. I feel very safe and secure here. The hotel is walking distance to Disneyland and several great places to eat and shop.

Listen don't just relay on other people's experiences. Stay here for yourself and make your own informed decision.

Thanks!

We stayed at the Marriott on our recent DL visit. The staff is probably one of the best highlights of this hotel. Everyone went out of their way to be friendly, courteous and accommodating. Even the bellman was very jovial...thanks for asking about my brother, Santa! The hotel lobby was beautiful with its holiday decor. For an older property it was a standout.
Love that there's a Starbucks on property, with a small gas fireplace to sit beside.
The only reasons it didn't get a 5 rating were the beds...comfy, with plush comforters...just not outstanding. Also, parking was a RIDICULOUS $24.00 a day!

Room Tip: Try for an upper level room facing the parks...you get a glimpse of the fireworks from your balcony.

Family trip to Disneyland and California Adventure. We were pleased with checking in earlier than expected and the staff was welcoming. I got a fair price for the area and would stay again. I read a few reviews with regards to the self parking being far, I thought it was fine. Although I do agree $24 is a tad steep? As for getting to the parks, we bought the ART passes at the front desk $5 adults and $2 for kids. It is kinda walk able, but factoring all the walking at the parks $2.50 per way was a deal. It is just over a mile to walk it, but the walk back at night would no doubt feel longer especially if you have to carry a 5 year old :) It had a Starbucks for my wife and though we didn't get a pizza they do have a pizza hut as well. The rooms were clean large flat screen TV, showers and ceilings are a little dated, but acceptable. I would stay there again.

Room Tip: Though it didn't matter to us, had I stayed longer than a night I would ask the cost to upgrade...

I stayed here for a three-day conference in early December. I booked a double room, non-smoking, requested a balcony facing Dinseyland land at check-in was giving a nice room on the 14th floor. The staff in the whole establishment is extremely friendly and greeting you throughout the stay. The property is nice inside. The room was comfortable, but a smaller room from other Marriott properties. Bed and pillows were comforable, flat screen TV with nice balcony with chairs. The only negative was the bathroom was small and internet was a fee. I would definately stay here again. It is a good 20 minute walk to downtown disney from hotel.
