i am totally confused about the other reviews. we had a kids suite this past sun. it was spotless. we go to disney area a lot, as we have a season pass. we've stayed in many hotels and like to try new ones. here's what we liked about this one and did not:
LIKED:
- kids suite set up: bunk bed, sofa, refrig, microwave and tv in one room, separated by french door. king bed, tv and sink in main room, with another sink, toilet and tub in bathroom. easily could fit three kids and two adults.
- location: very close to entrance to park. ABC market across street. gas station (chevron) right next door.
- very, very clean. everything seemed brand new. extra pillows, sheets and blankets sealed in plastic bag in closet. arrowhead bottled water at no charge.
- bathroom: for a 3* hotel, travertine on the floor, nice amenities, granite threshold, spotless
DID NOT LIKE:
- pool: small rectangle in back, shared with jolly roger inn next door
- check in: 3 pm. held steadfast to this rule, even though we came in on sun. the hotel was sold out the night before, but with only a few checks ins that day, could have cleaned our room earlier
- building locations: the venice tower was across the parking lot. no security guard, except for security card to access building directly from harbor blvd
- underground parking: had to walk outside to get to entrance of building.
- nowhere for daughter to ride her scooter except on the sidewalk on busy harbor blvd.
- view: palm tree blocking gas station
- restaurant: jolly roger, around and through parking lot. very dated and old. kids eat free only applied to lunch and dinner.
- close to dland, but have to drive, wouldn't walk.
- offer a shuttle, but have to pay.
- because of room set up, main room was noisy from housekeepers outside in early am and people walking by. in normal hotel room, entrance is past closet and bathroom. this room opens up directly into the main room, thereby no muffling of sound from outside in hallway.
