Overview: We visited the Fairfiled Inn in September. We were able to book two rooms that were connected. We came with our three girls and friends and thier kids. We were on the top floor with a great view of the park.

Pool: The first day we got there we were able to go down to the pool and play. The kids loved this. They were a little disappointed about not going to Disneyland right away, but got over it quickly. They loved the pool. It is a good size. I could see in the summer months gettting a little crowded but it was perfect for us. They have towels there for just pool use. The hot tub was very relaxing.

Room: The room are nice and always clean. I like how the chair turns into a small sized bed. We always have to get a rollaway for one of our girls and this was perfect for us and our friends. The mini fridge is great and the storage below and to the side of the vanity was great for our groceries.

Food: Since there was no continental breakfast we found a grocery store and got some breakfast items. The girls loved the oatmeal that I was able to make with the hot water from the coffee maker. We got a case of water and each night would chill more water for the next day. McDonalds was close for icecream on the way home or some fries. Mimi's is right in front of the hotel. We went Mimi's twice. Once for sit down - which was nice and the second time we called out for pick up. That was great! We were all tired and it was nice to bring it back to the room and eat. We did have pizza one night from the Pizza Hut on the 3rd floor it was convienent, but it was pizza. I did like playing air hockey while waiting for my order.

Parking: Parking was not a problem we could always find a spot if we left the property. It is so close to the park, everyday we walked to Disneyland. My kids never complained about the walk home. They could see the hotel and that made it nice. We have done a shuttle when we were at another hotel and the kids would fall asleep and then we would be stuck carring or dragging them up to the room. This was nice.

I have stayed at other properties around Disneyland but this is the one I keep coming back to. Infact we stayed here in June '08 and we also going to stay here this month (Dec.) for a quick trip to Disneyland.

Stayed here for 3 nights to go to Disneyland. Flew in for the first time (usually we drive) and took the Disneyland Express shuttle to the hotel. Very easy but should have flown in to John Wayne instead of LAX. Live and learn, but at least someone else was dealing with the traffic. We booked a Disney view room which was on the ninth floor. Watched the fireworks from the balcony one night which was nice but it's better in the park with the music. We walked to the other side of the hotel and those rooms face the freeway. Lots of traffic noise.

Our room was very clean, beds comfortable, shower fine. The AC was a little noisy but it didn't bother me. There is a pool here but we didn't use it. This hotel is definitely within walking distance of Disneyland. If you're looking for the closest hotel on this strip it would be the Best Western Park Place Inn. That hotel is right at the crosswalk but I've never stayed there so can't comment on it other than how close it is to Disneyland.

If you're looking for a place to eat I'd recommend Mimi's cafe. It is a very short walk from the hotel and the food is quite good. You can get a home style dinner here for the same price you pay for fast food at Disneyland. The service is very efficient and you can relax and get away from the bustle of the park for awhile. We ended up eating dinner there twice.

There is no continental breakfast at this hotel. I don't understand that but you can get a good, but expensive, cup of coffee at the Seattle's Best on the third floor inside the pizza place.

The front desk help was always very cordial. They printed out my boarding passes for me which was appreciated. You can catch the Disney Express shuttle back to the airport on the sidewalk outside the hotel, by the street. Give yourself enough time to get to the airport because the shuttle stops at several hotels before they proceed to the airport. We cut it awfully close.

  • Liked — Clean room, good maid service, proximity to Disneyland
  • Disliked — No continental breakfast, come on!

My husband and I wanted to go to Disneyland for a few days and the Fairfield looked like it was close enough and walking distance to the park. We were disappointed at first because we wanted a high floor to see the fireworks, but none available with a king bed. The only room type available for the king was on the bottom floor, outside room and was handicap. This ended up being the best room because it was very large and we could park right outside the room. For the fireworks, we could just step outside of the hotel and see them. It was awesome! We really enjoyed out stay there.

I think fellow reviewers have been a little kind with this one!

First of all, yes this property is VERY close to Disneyland. In fact, it would really be hard to be any closer. The location is GREAT. And there are several restaurants (including a late-night McDonald's) right next door. You can park here for free and walk to Disney. That's pretty nice I must say.

But this place calls themselves a RESORT. It's hardly a resort.
The only amenities even close to being a resort are the average pool and hot tub, which closes at 10PM every night. I seriously don't understand how any busy hotel (let alone one calling themselves a resort) can close a pool this early. Disneyland stays open until 10 or midnight most nights, so there is zero opportunity to even soak your feet.

For Marriott fans, this place was definitely a letdown. Not by any means up to Fairfield standards. Although the hotel does disclose it on their website, all rooms open to the outside. In addition, there is no free (or any) breakfast. I've never seen a Fairfield that didn't offer the free continental breakfast. Why would this one not?? And, as I mentioned that pool hours are severely limited, mostly ruling that out.

The rooms themselves were just fine. They are basic Fairfield standard, but also with a small fridge. I thought the bathrooms were very clean with great shower heads.

One of the biggest shocks for me was the the public hallways and elevator areas. I'm used to seeing something a little cleaner and more refined than this. It had a very cheap "motel-ish" feeling. Certainly by no means felt you were at a hotel run by Marriott.

Noise was a bit of a small issue. I could hear folks in the room next door on several occasions...and several times heard people outside our room.

If I come back to the area, I'll try a different hotel. For what I paid, I don't think it was worth it.

We stayed at the Fairfield Inn Anaheim Disneyland based on a recommendation from a friend. We would definitely stay again, if only for the extreme ease of access to Disneyland. From our room on the sixth floor to the gates of Disneyland was at most a 5 minute walk. Our room was clean, the beds were comfy, everyone at the hotel was very friendly. There is a market on the third floor where we bought fruit and pastries for breakfast.

We could see the fireworks at Disneyland from our room, which meant we could also hear them. They only lasted about 20 minutes so that was no big deal to us, you can't be that close to the park without hearing the fireworks. The only minor hassle is that all of the rooms exit to the outside, so it is a bit of a walk from your room to the elevators to the parking lot, but that was really only an issue when we arrived and departed, not a big deal at all.
