“Renter Beware”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2013

We stayed here last year for 5 months on lot237 and was okay so decided to return this year, unfortunately we did not have a positive experience this time. This year we stayed on lot 366 and had an owner neighbour on lot 368 who had yappy dogs and he played booming loud music. We spoke to them about it and she said I know it drives me crazy. One night the booming was so loud we could not hear the T.V. in our unit and after speaking to them twice and it didnot subside I phoned Security and was told was time I learnt the rules as music coild be played till 11pm. They didnot come to check how loud it was. On the Monday we went to talk to the General Manager who refused to speak to us in private and then told us was nothing he could do as we were JUST RENTERS so we went to see the lady who looked after renting the lot to us and she didnot know what she could do but did get a Boardmember who did not take us seriously until we said , well we are JUST RENTERSso we will be leaving the end of Feb. instead of March and then he said well I guess we will have to talk to him as sounds like he is out of control again.
If you are planning on renting here also be aware of the amount the internet will cost to hook-up if staying for 1 month or 3 as the cost is the same and then want you to pay for another 3 months if you can stay that long or not , but can come and ask for a refund before you leave but they are unable to credit it back to your card or give you cash and because we donot have an American Account would cost us to cash the cheque so I am holding the cheque till we get home and will let it be them who has to pay charges and will be a few months before can clean it off the books.
Also be aware that the electrical cost can be high and find out if you pay the party you rent from or to the HOA office .
The golf course is a 14 hole par 3 and is a challange but is okay except for the fact that the coot and duck population has grown so much since last year and the poop is disgusting on the course but specially on the greens. I thought the price was good until we golfed in different places in the area and found tthey charge less for a full size 18 holes .
The bathrooms and laundry were usually clean but there are big problems with toilets plugging on a regular basis.
The hope is that if people come here to rent they try to get you to buy one of the many lots that are for sale but from our experience and what have read on another site they donot make it all that appealing.
The green grass and quiet of the country are okay but is a half hour drive to Temecula to go shopping so at times can be a bit of a pain and the road is dark and winding with some terrible drivers so we found was not enjoyable going into town after dark and having to drive back.
We will not be returning for another season.

This is our first time vacationing in Aguanga the past few years we have been in Palm Springs.
We booked a site with an RV through the internet with Fairway Associates who manage multiple owner rental properties in Rancho California RV. There is quite a variety of sites available both through Fairway Associates and through private owner rentals through the internet. All the sites have full hookups but some sites have owner added ammedities like outdoor kitchens, palapas and barbques. Many of the sites have great mountain views or back onto one of the many lakes or onto the golf course. Speaking of which, the RV park is built around a fourteen (yes 14) hole golf course, apparantly there are plans sometime in the future to add four more holes but its not a prority right now. The golf course is actually quite challanging with lots of water to contend with.
They charge a flat rate $200/couple per month for unlimited golf and you never have to book a tee time. The RV park has great facilites very clean and very well maintained. The staff and residents are super friendly they have a well stocked store. The on site restaurant has a nice menu and weekly specials that are a pleasent surprise. I agree that there could be some arguement that the facilities are not exactly family oriented, it does seem that there is an older clientile residing here. There are however six tennis courts and, I believe, five swimming pools with spas and a small fishing lake and I did see some paddle boats on the fishing lake so there is things for a family to do and this would be a very good place for a junior golfer to hone his or her short game skills without the pressure and rules of a larger public course. As to the location you have about a fifteen minute drive to Temecula which has just about every thing you could ever need.
I would defintely recommend this park to my friends

We have RV'd here for the past 4+ years at least once a year. We have enjoyed every visit. Their security is top-notch. I appreciate their restrictions for rentals (no older RVs than 10 years, not less than 30' in length, no travel trailers - motorhomes or 5th wheels only). Several swimming pools open to all, dog park, (no children's playground), clean, well maintained, great 14 hole golf course (challenging water hazards), great events - wine & cheese on Fridays, fun 4th of July parade, chili cook-off - old fashioned fun! Golf cart rentals. Lots are well-maintained. Lakes for fishing. Reasonable for the renter - $65 a night.

This was our second trip in our new Motorhome over the memorial day weekend. We had our 4 kids and dog with us. We were in lot 586 in the back area. We checked in late and the guard let us in. You have to show your insurance card to get in this place. So I had to find it after 15 minutes I found it.

The Good: Nice clean location and well maintained. Full hook ups. The resort uses well water and it was all recently check by state of california with good ratings.

Good fishing lake. My kids caught 2 blue gills and 2 catfish. well stocked and nice

Pools were clean and well maintained. They have 7 of them.

The not so good:
They have a dog park for running your dogs but no kids play area. This tells you something about the place. There is no game room and no activities for kids. We went here specifically for the Luau that they advertised but it was sold out. I checked several times at the front desk for the wait list but we did not clear it. Several older folks who checked in after we did and got in. I think they cater to the older set here.

It was hot 100F the day we got there and no shade at all. Pool was nice and cool so that was a relief. No fire rings or campfire on the site.

We rented a golf cart for two days for $75, good price

They did not give us the FMCA discount that they offered and no detailed bill when we checked in or out.

The store has limited hours 9-2 or 9-3. It ran out of bait for the catfish.

They have on site a really nice restaurant. But to get to it you have to show your insurance card to the guard. They seem very obsessed with insurance here. Imagine going to your local restaurant down the street and they ask you for your insurance card before they serve you.

The golfing looks great its 14 holes and free to owners (but not renters) There are some owners only pool areas. Lots run from $32,000-$200,000+ to buy. However, there are a ton of lots for sale. The pricing here seems high and the Association fee is $395 and does not include electricity.

Overall great for the older retiree. Not good for kids and camping. I read the review on the vail resort down the street and this is a better place for us. I would not recommend this for families with young kids. especially with better places nearby for families.
