“Excellent customer service”

We took our children for a weekend camping adventure and I'm glad we discovered this place through the help of the internet. We are looking for the best place to camp in southern part of Arizona. The place is beautiful and peaceful . We spent a night in this quite secluded area. The owner is very helpful. I highly recommend this hidden treasure.

We discovered this secluded treasure while searching online for campsites near Buenos Aires Wildlife Refuge. This is not only a campground but has small ponds where you can fish, paddleboat or just decompress around the water and picnic areas. We had planned on staying only one night but after meeting Steve Rendon, our warm and welcoming host/owner,we decided to stay at LaSiesta for the entire week. This is a inexpensive and fun travel destination for both adults and kids .

Spent a day with friends and family fishing, paddle boating, barbequing and picnicking at La Siesta. The kids had a great time. The lake is well stalked providing the children the opportunity to catch dozens of fish. There are some real lunkers in there too. Steve and Bob whose vision it was to create and make this desert oasis available to the public were very hospitable, helpful and friendly. We had a wonderful relaxing day and plan to be frequent visitors. La Siesta is still a work in progress. Our hosts have many exciting future improvements planned. We are looking forward to being frequent guests. We are so glad to have discovered this unique pastoral recreation destination right here in Southern Arizona where we live. At just $12.00 a carload it is an affordable way to spend a quality day entertaining the entire family.

I grew up around the corner from La Siesta and remember going there as a kid before it was La Siesta. I took my boys there a few days ago for a picnic and fishing and now they ask me every morning when we're going to go back, which we did two days later. Not only is it a great place for young ones to fish it is beautiful and so peaceful. I have even planned to have my kids friends and families come down. I think we'll be spending lots of time at La Siesta Campgrounds!

First of all, let me tell you that I know the owner, Steve Rendon from two of his past businesses, the La Siesta Motel and a sweet little event/wedding hall and garden in Tucson and this man has the Midas Touch! He never stops improving his businesses, is always there to help or make suggestions for travel and fun in the area and always eager for suggestions on making his business even better. Most of his customers become friends and come back often and spread his reputation by word of mouth. Now in Arivaca Arizona, close to the riparian Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge, he is taking land that had a few empty lake/ponds (one of them 64 ft deep!) and some half finished fish ponds into an Oasis that is a treasure for tourists and Arizonans in need of some R&R and a cool refreshing swim under giant cottonwood trees! he is also owner of Arivaca Aquaponics and has greenhouses filled with flowers and fish that feed eachother and clean eachothers water....tilapia, koi, mint, cabbage....all kinds of things! He is also starting a fish hatchery and possibly a frog hatchery as well. My friend and i went with our dogs and my horse and had a lovely two nights stay, taking in the Arivaca 4th of July Parade, a drink at the local Cantina where we met many friendly locals, a BBQ back at the campgrounds with the talented Chuck Wagon and the Wheels with lots of dancing and merriment...folks using the two paddle boats and jumping from the giant dock into the deep lake. I cant wait to go back, even if just for a picnic day and swim, which you can do instead of camping.

Room Tip: Pay attention to the directions on getting there. If coming from Amado and I-10, the turn for the c...

Steve and Co. are hard at work making fantastic grounds for outdoor fun. There's plenty of shade and the little pond is great for swimming and fishing now. I cannot wait for the big pond to be completely filled in and showers near the main camping sites to be done. Lots of pretty birds to watch and everyone was so friendly too. Maybe next time I'll try the Glamour Tent complete with a/c. Thanks for everything!
