“Paradise on the Homer spit”

If you are ever in the Homer, Alaska area you must put this Lodge on your itinerary. Overlooking the anchor River and the Bay near Homer sits a beautiful Log cabin B&B. The proprietors, Brian and Janet , are a real delight and they know how to make a new guest feel right at home. Their home is extremely nice and the guest rooms are very nice, clean , and feel like home away from home. The downstairs rooms are arranged so that guests have a common area to sit around and get aquainted.

Breakfast was just the best, as we sat at the table and looked out over the water as bold eagles flew by.

This is a must stay for anyone who wants to get the feel of Real Alaska.

The lodge is located overlooking the Anchor River and Cook Inlet, with wonderful views of volcanos in the distance, and only 10 miles from Homer. Eagles are frequently seen from the lodge - in the trees and flying by. The rooms are immaculate and well decorated. Best of all, the innkeepers, Brian and Janet, make you feel totally welcome. They are very knowledgeable about the area and helpful in making your stay with them memorable and unique. We spent two weeks in Alaska in June, seeing everything from Mt. Denali to Homer. Our time at the Anchor Point Lodge was definitely our favorite part of the trip and we are returning just two months later to spend a week at this lodge. That probably says it all!

I traveled to the Anchor River with a group of six, primarily to go halibut fishing. We spent three nights at the Anchor River Lodge and couldn't have been happier with our stay. Janet and Brian are top-notch and you will not find better hosts. The breakfasts had a great selection and Brian did a great job of giving us pointers on where to fish in the river below. I hope to go back and visit them!

Where in the world can you stand on a deck overlooking a great and comfortable river to fish for various kinds of Pacific salmon and Dolly Varden trout, also overlooking Cook Inlet where halibut and salmon are easily caught, watch the sun set and be in an incredible mordern/rustic lodge?

Stayed here 2 nights and would have extended if I could have backed out of my other reservations. This B&B overlooks the Anchor River as it flow into the Cook Inlet...fantastic views of the Alaska Range and Mt Illiama. Hosts Janet and Brian will treat you like family. The facility is spotlessly clean, beds exceedingly comfortable, breakfast outstanding...the list goes on! They even led me down to the Anchor River to 'bother' the King Salmon (bother because none of them permitted me to hook them).

Your hosts are 'connected' in the little town of Anchor Point and can point you to any service you might need. They hooked me up with O'Fishial Charters and had a great day of halibut fishing (landed a 50 pounder!).

Located just 15 or so miles from Homer and Kachemak Bay. Plenty of parking...wildlife and views abound!

Janet is an exquisite hostess. The home is beautifully decorated and clean. Brian knows where the fish are running. Picture the sunset over the the mountain! You can try but you can't find a more beautiful and friendly place.

I have stayed at the Anchor River Lodge on three separate occasions, and each time staying there was a great experience. My first stay was with our Daughter on our annual father / daughter surprise destination trip. We stayed with Janet and Brian and used their beautiful lodge as our "base camp" while we spent time kayaking, horseback riding, and just hanging out. The views, food, and accomodations are outstanding. My second stay was with my wife, as we spent five days in the Anchor Point / Homer area looking for property. We got spoiled by the accomodations and views at the Lodge, and couldn't find anything comparable in the area. My third stay was with our son over Father's Day last year. Janet hooked us up with a Halibut fishing trip that was awesome. On a sunny day the views can't be beat, with Bald Eagles often within viewing distance. The only thing better than the views and accomodations is Janet's cooking. Her breakfasts are amazing, with more food than anyone should consider eating. The aroma of Janet's fresh baked cookies is a regular treat. Now each time we visit Alaska we just plan to stay at the Anchor River Lodge.
