I have stayed at this motel several times, it's always clean and you can't beat the price.

Conveniently located about 5 miles from downtown Anniston and Jacksonville, and less than 1/4 mile from Super Wal-Mart (with fuel center), Regions Bank, and several restaurants (McDonalds, Arby's, Krystals, etc.), Royal Inn undoubtedly gives the most bang for the buck. The manager and staff are more than hospitable and accomodating to each client's individual needs. The property features a well kept pool and poolside gazebo, washer/dryer unit, ice, and drink machines. Free breakfast, cable, and wireless internet is available daily, and the housekeeping does an exceptional job with a friendly attitude.

Our room had a king sized bed, loveseat, coffee table, desk, mini-fridge, microwave, and more. My several-week stay (August 2008) at the Royal Inn was a comfortable, quiet, and quality one, at about half the price of comparable hotels.

When we arrived, there were only jaccuzi suites available. Even though they were more expensive, we stayed there. When we went in the room, only one light worked, the tv remotes didn't work, there were cigarette holes burnt in the sheets, the carpet was ripped and filthy, mold in the bathrooms, cover off the vent fan, and no dishes in the "kitchen." If this wasn't bad enough, neither the jaccuzi nor the shower worked and there was a large patched hold unpainted beside the toilet. The jaccuzi had no pressure at all, the air vent cover was broken off and moldy. The shower would not work properly and my husband scalded his back when the temp. shot up suddenly. We had to leave the water running since it was impossible to turn off. When we told the management (owner) he had no respose other than he would check into it. This was a miserable place to stay and I would not recommend it to anyone!!!!! Probably the worst place I have ever stayed.

  • Liked — leaving
  • Disliked — lack of cleanliness and non-working room amenities (necessities)
