“Unexpected Find in a Small City”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2014

We were pleasantly surprised by the number and quality of the exhibits in the museum. We attend a children's birthday party there and had a great time. This is a good thing to do on a rainy day here in this area. There is also a small park by the main road as you drive in which makes a great stop on your way in or out. We also took my parents there for a visit and they were impressed with the wide variety of items to look at.

“Museum of Natural History”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2013

Excellent place to visit, especially for the kids. Adults will like it too. Excellent collection of stuffed animals from all over the world. Amassed by a local business man who traveled and hunted all over the world. Very educational....

“Children friendly museum”

The Museum has an area that is set up for kids to have a hands on experience. The ocean to the mountains exhibit is well done and the and layout of the museum keeps the whole family entertained.

“Worth a Side Trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2013

This little-know museum is off the beaten path, but is very much worth a side trip. Set in beautiful grounds, it houses an excellent interpretation of the nature of Alabama, a state with highly diverse geology, ranging from the Coastal Plain to the ancient crystalline rocks of the Valley and Ridge Province. Alabama's biology is equally diverse. The ANMH takes the visitor through all the varied geology, and all the eco-systems found in the State.

The Anniston Museum of Natural History displays and interprets these sciences well. The exhibits and the explanatory material will be interesting to both children and adults. It is difficult to create displays which convey the information clearly to adults, but which do not go over the heads of children. The AMNH succeeds in making things both interesting and comprehensible to all.

An excellent good museum.

“Amazing natural museum with a darling gift shop.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2013

What a wonderful surprise to have such a display of natural history. Appropriate for all ages. The bird collection is impressive. Enjoyed the gift shop as it had a large amount of items that were unique as well as priced fair. It took my family of 4 approximately 1.5 hours to complete a walk thru. Will definitely return.
