“Great! Will return!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2012

Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Went with a party of 8. All 8 were highly satisfied and want to return! Complimentary bread and herbed olive oil were the best I've had at any Italian restaurant. Tomato basil soup >delicious. Ravioli Rose >delicious. Salad was just allright to me, too much iceberg for my tastes. Wish we had saved room for dessert because there were many beautiful and tempting cakes calling out to me….next time! ~Really enjoyed Joe's!

“Best Italian Food for Miles”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2012

This little place is welcoming and the food is possibly the best Italian food I have tasted with very large portions. Great service. Good selection of wines and beers to complement the food. The cakes may be the best part of what was already an exceptional meal...the strawberry is our favorite. We Love this place!

“Still recovering”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2012

This place came recommended by some locals, and we can't thank them enough. The staff is awesome and take great pride in their restaurant, and rightfully so. We had the tomato bisque soup, pasta, and some stuffed peppers. After all that, some beers, and almost two full baskets of bread, there's no way we were going to let the fact that we were extremely full stop us from trying the dessert. They have the biggest pieces of cake I've ever seen, and we tried to split a piece and couldn't do it. Go here. Great atmosphere, food, prices and service.

“Excellent surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2012

We ate at Joes today and loved it. Food was great. Strawberry cake and the cannoli was amazing. The eggplant parm was perfect. They have a great pamodara sauce!

“Wow! What a Surprise!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012

Visited Joe's for dinner on a Friday night after hearing about it from a friend. Was a bit of a drive from B'ham and honestly I was not expecting much - based on the name and location - but it is worth the trip! We had a 15 minute wait for a table, during which, Joe (the owner and namesake) gave us free samples of drinks and cakes.

Food was good - menu has a good variety of basic American-Italian selections. Something for everyone. Atmosphere was very festive and fun - Momma came out of the kitchen and danced a bit during the meal. In addition to dinner, the place is known for its cakes - they are very tasty. One word of caution, the portion sizes of everything (especially the cake slices) are mega-huge. One slice of cake can easily feed a table of 4 - assuming you have any room left after your dinner.

Overall, a fun and tasty experience - be careful not to over-eat. For central AL, about as good "Italian food" as you will find.
