I've stayed here many times and after this last visit, I doubt that I will stay again. As another reviewer has stated--this is a convention hotel. If you are an individual paying your own way, don't expect to be treated as an important guest.
Soon after checking into my room I found out the hard way that a part of the bed frame was protruding about 4 inches out and had been covered by the dust ruffle. As I walked by the bed, my shin slammed into the protruding bed frame. I called and spoke with the manager who tried to convince me that this was an issue for security and medical attention, not for him. finally realized he needed to come and see me. Both he and the head housekeeper apologized and the manager asked me to check in with him later that evening.
A few hours later when I checked at the front desk as requested, the manager told me that the bed had been out of position because the carpet had been cleaned, and that housekeeping had now put my bed properly into the frame and remade it. That was his whole response.
I would have appreciated SOMETHING to acknowledge that this should not have happened at all. A tangible token--say, a piece of fruit or a free drink or free internet would have felt like a genuine apology on behalf of the hotel, and it would have gone a long way to have me feel like a valued guest.
Also, I have never before been charged (here or elsewhere) for leaving my luggage with the bellman at checkout time. While $1 per bag is not a lot of $, there was nothing to indicate there was a charge before the bellman took my bag and asked for the dollar, so I wasn't even sure this was hotel policy. Tacky.

Thank you for taking the time to review the Washington Hilton. I am very sorry that you hurt your shin on the bed frame while in your guest room, and even more apologetic that you felt the hotel response was inadequate and insincere. When a person injures themselves in their room, it is our policy for security to handle the claim, provide any medical care they can, and to record the incident. We hope that despite this fluke accident, you will consider staying with us again.
