“Amazing staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013

The Hilton was in a very good location, clean with large rooms, but overall it was the friendliness of the staff that truly made our stay. William at the front desk was extremely friendly and accommodating. When we couldn't open a bottle of wine with the provided cork screw, a man from room service came all the way up to help us. Overall, I would definitely suggest the Washington Hilton, as it's close to all the attractions, clean and well run. Thanks for the great stay to the entire staff.

This was my third time at this hotel and you can't go wrong. Location is great. Close to all kinds of restaurants. Walk to Georgetown, metro etc. The hotel is clean and the staff could not be better.
I was there for another Merle Norman convention and would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a convenient place to stay where you feel at home!

I thought my experience here was excellent. I got lost from the metro to get there, walked down Q street instead of up connecticut, and boy am I glad I did. There were historic federal era houses that I wouldn't have seen if I had just taken the strait shot. But I digress. Ugly from the outside, and not with a great view, but it was everything I wanted and needed. Nice people, clean bed, quiet room. Nothing that blew me away, but all in all a good experience.

Thank you for reviewing the Washington Hilton. I am so glad you had an excellent experience while staying here. I am sorry that you got lost from the metro, but the neighborhood is beautiful and really an attraction all its own. We look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit to DC.

I stayed here for business but wish I'd had more time for pleasure. DC is a stunning, walkable city, terrific for exploring on foot with no particular agenda. The hotel is about half a mile from DuPont Circle and offers easy access to everything. The staff were helpful and courteous, room service was delicious, and the options nearby for a quick bite to each are plentiful. Use the exit on the Terrace level (instead of the main entrance in the front drive) to see the President's Walk, a stone tunnel where POTUS's motorcade pulls in when he delivers addresses here, which is frequently. In 1963, after the JFK assassination, the hotel built a covered walkway called The President's Walk - which, ironically, was the scene of the 1981 assassination attempt on Ronald Reagan. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reagan_assassination_attempt

Several reviews (and some of my colleagues) complained about parking, but if you're car free, it's an easy and relatively inexpensive cab ride. I paid $25 from Reagan National Airport, including tip.

The only thing to note - the hotel is ENORMOUS, so if walking is an issue or if you have little ones, ask for a room close to the elevator. Also, my room was itty-bitty; not really an issue for me, though the bathroom was a bit claustrophobic - as in, banging my shins on the toilet when getting out of the shower and having to store toiletries in the closet because there's barely any vanity, But that's what you get in the big city!

Room Tip: The hallways go on FOREVER. Ask for a room close to the elevator if you're lugging lots of stuf...

Thank you for reviewing the Washington Hilton. It sounds like you enjoyed your stay and really liked the neighborhood and unique history of our hotel. It is true that we have a special entrance for POTUS, but the President’s Walk actually refers to a hallway on the Concourse level of the hotel by our International Ballroom. This hallway, which is open to guests, is lined with a picture of every president and their first lady/ladies. Next time you stay, you will have to see all of the portraits.

Just happened to see a pop up on my computer screen for this hotel and decided to look into it. I usually stay closer to Embassy Row, but I am very happy that I decided to try this hotel instead. The price was very reasonable (especially since I got the parking package deal). It's located very close to Dupont Circle and not too far from Georgetown, the staff was pleasant and helpful.

My only complaint: the food in the McClelland's Sports Bar wasn't all that great. Drinks were wonderful though!

I am so pleased you love the Washington Hilton. Thank you for giving us a try since we are not in your normal location. The parking package is a great deal since parking in DC can get expensive. We look forward to welcoming you back soon!

Wonderful hotel experience! It's saying a lot when you're in town on vacation and you don't want to leave the hotel! Great service, fantastic food, and wonderful accommodations. And the pool! Perfect for DC with a wonderful staff. We'll definitely stay here again - hopefully soon!
