“Very nice stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2014

I really enjoyed my stay. The service was good and my room was quite nice. I only are breakfast at the restaurant but it was very good. The fitness center is fantastic. My room was clean and well appointed. You aren't isolated from street noise but I've never minded city noises - just be aware you are on top of a very active firehouse.

When we visit a city, we really like to walk everywhere. Staying at this hotel made walking possible whether to the Capitol, the National Mall, or the Smithsonian Museums. We could also walk from the Union Station to the hotel, which was only a half mile away. We had a backpack and carry-on a piece, but had we needed to do so, we could have negotiated the distance with another suitcase.

The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. At the end of the day, we always felt like we were coming home. The lobby was large and cheerful. We had breakfast at the restaurant one day, and it was very good, but it was closed for dinner during what they referred to as "a slow time."

The rooms were large and quiet. Our room had two comfy chairs where a lot of hotels just provide one. It was a good place to sit and read at the end of the day.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the capitol. We were on the 8th floor and could only see the tiptop of Liberty.

Wasn't sure what to expect when I booked this hotel for our annual mother-daughter getaway. The pressure is on to have a positive experience as we do this only once a year. Well it couldn't have been a better experience! The doormen, bartender and front desk and room service staff were so efficient, helpful, accommodating and friendly! The room was large, clean and quiet. The location was perfect-only a couple blocks from Union Station (we took the train) and close to the Capital and Mall. It was a stress-free and enjoyable experience! Will not hesitate to return.

We spent three nights at this hotel to "do" the Washington sights. Walking distance from Amtrak was handy. Shame on check in at 3pm to find rooms were not ready till 4pm. No problem, we did Capitol Hill ( walking distance!) but then on our return found one room was still not made up. Perfect reaction from the front desk, we were given two brand new rooms with top class view on 16th floor, thank you Washington Court. Beautiful rooms, bathrooms etc ......absolutely no complaints. Only comment would be breakfast was rather on the formal side considering we were on Holiday.

Room Tip: For views of Capitol ask for floor 14 plus

The Washington Court Hotel was perfect for a quick weekend trip to DC. The room was huge! The bathroom was nice, everything was clean, and the staff was very friendly. The room was very comfortable as well. My only complaint would be location; the hotel was farther from the National Mall than I would have liked and we ended up having to take cabs, buses, and use my car to get around when I would have preferred to walk. Also, valet service takes a while (around 10 minutes) so allow time for that if you are in a hurry. Overall, I liked the hotel and I would stay here again.

Two blocks away from Capital and Union Station. For location, you can't get much better. The lobby looked very nice. Check in was not as great. The people at the front desk were not very nice. We had three rooms and asked if one was ready to place our luggage. We were told in no uncertain terms, that "none of our rooms are available, like I said". At that point, the best part of the hotel came into play. The bellmen and door men were the most courteous and professional that I have ever met. They went above and beyond with our tons of stuff!

The housekeeping staff was the exact opposite. We ordered the kids room service the first night, the plates and stuff sat there for over a day. We were also left a note that they could not clean our room or make the bed because we had an air mattress next to it.

We may give this hotel another try because of the bellmen and they seemed to be renovating some of the floors, which we actually never heard. Also, there was an incident in the room next to us that was very loud. I don't think that this was the hotels fault, but it was a little scary. Not too sure if they have security in hall at night.

Room Tip: 1102 has most awesome view of US Capital and parking on 1st Avenue (around corner) is 70% cheaper th...

It was a great for the price and just for the fact that it is in DC.
We went for a concert, and they even had someone that took us to the place that we needed to be.
If I have to go to DC again, I will stay there.
