“Good Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

Stayed here three nights on a business trip in May 2013. I must admit I spent very little time in the hotel as my meetings were offsite so other than grabbing a drink at the bar and watching a little late night tv, most of my time was outside. I do have a few brief comments.

Location: Good location...very close to Union Station and only about a 10-15 minute taxi ride from the airport. There are a couple of Irish Pubs directly around the corner from the hotel and Union Station offers a number of restaurants.

Check-In was quick and easy. The hotel has a very nice lobby and bar area. No complaints there.

High speed internet is available in the rooms, but I was this is the first hotel I can ever recall seeing different pricing options for different download speeds. The base hookup was like $10 per day and then you could opt for a higher internet speed for like $20 a day. That is crazy and I feel like many of these higher scale hotels simply rip off customers with this. I can stay at a holiday Inn and get free wifi, but most nicer hotels charge high fees.

No complaints about the room. It was clean, the bed was nice and I was pleased with the bathroom. It was nice and large and plenty of counterspace for all your items. The shower was also good sized and ample hot water was not a problem.

Overall, I was pleased with my stay and would definitely stay again if I'm in town.

The staff are nice and helpful. We asked for directions and they went ahead and print out all the directions for us. The room is specious but just a little bit old fashioned. I will definitely stay there again.

The Washington Court Hotel has an excellent location in Capitol Hill! The rooms are spacious and very comfortable as are the meeting rooms. The hotel staff is always eager to help you with anything! Having used this location's meeting spaces and rooms for several years now i sure hope my company never changes! The staff must like thier jobs as every year we see many of the same faces we saw the previous year who always seem to remember us too! You will love your stay here!

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the street otherwise you will be overlooking the construction of the buil...

The hotel is in a great location, but the hotel it self is just ok.. Lobby is nice and clean and 4 star worthy, but the rooms are not.. Small, no refrigerated. They charge for everything!!! 46 charge for keeping your car in their parking deck, hotel guests should be free!!! You don't even have access to your car.

This hotel, ordinarily out of my price range, was great for a business trip to DC. Clean, comfortable, helpful and personable staff -not much more to ask for. Also, I appreciated that it was located so close to the Capital and museums. There is a Capital Bikeshare station right around the corner, you can hop right on and go anywhere in short order.

Booked this hotel for a family reunion. This review might seem a bit confusing... that's bescause our stay was confusing...We had some trouble regarding our reservations, due to misunderstandings and lack of communication. And this is my main issue with this hotel. The way the reception handled these issues was very unprofessional. The agreement we made with one person wasn't communicated to the next one on duty, So we could start all over again. Some of my guests were billed for their room, others I paid for - totally random it seemed. A room was cancelled although we were told, that the room would be there for our friends who arrived one day late. Turns out the room is cancelled automatically when they don't show up the first night - that's just not what we were told at the reception. So we had our friend sleeping in our room on an extra bed! To mend our disappointment, the person in charge of the reception, promised me he would have the booking company transfer the money paid for the cancelled room back to me. Now it has been a month and several calls back to the hotel receptionist, and still no money...
The one dot I give is to the welcoming guys out front - they deserve five dots for their friendly and smiling ways! thanks!

The doorstaff was very friendly and helpfull. The rooms OK. Reception desk chaotic. We were a group who had asked to stay on the same floor, but was on three different. Check-out confusing, something like "Fawlty Towers". The hotel was fully booked which can excuse the chaos.
