“Great location and excellent hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2012

We stayed at the Washington Court Hotel this past summer. The location is great, walking distance from Union Station and the Capitol. We arrived late at night and were carrying our suitcased, so I wanted to stay close to avoid a long walk to the hotel near midnight. since we arrived late and only staying for one night, the updated the room to the suite that was available. The suite was awesome with view of the Capitol that looked expectacular at night. The hotel staff was very friendly and the following day we were able to store the luggage in the hotel, we tour the US Capital during the day, then picked up our bags and when to Union Station to rent a car. It was very convenient and the hotel was so nice, I decided to do the same thing when we returned the car; but this time we arrived earlier and left the bags at the hotel (before check in); then tour the city and came back to the hotel to pick up our bags and head to our room. It was not the suite, but the room was really nice, clean and a good size. I should say that I was travelling with teeneagers (visiting colleges) and they also liked the hotel and the conveniece of not having to carry their luggage through town. I woul stay there again next time we go to DC.

Room Tip: Call ahead if you know that you are going to arrive late, maybe you will get the upgrade to the pent...

We have stayed at a number of hotels in the district and have returned to the Washington Court on Capitol Hill three times because of the reasonable rates (especially when Congress isn't in session), friendly staff, and very comfortable accommodations. The food at the hotel's restaurant, Bistro 25, is very good, too, with a menu that is diverse and well prepared. On the most recent trip, I enjoyed kale salads with mandarin oranges and a zesty ginger dressing, and a pizza that was so generously topped I was able to make another meal of it later.

This is a quiet hotel where people come and go, but sounds are muffled to the point where rest comes easily and work can be accomplished in a stress-free environment. As other reviews detail, the hotel is located walking distance to the train station, Capital, other restaurants, and the museums on the National Mall. The main reason we give this hotel high marks, though, is the staff. The friendliness and courtesy we've found here make us feel welcome and at ease after a long trip across the nation.

Some of the heat during one of my showers was lost, which was a bit of an inconvenience and a minor discomfort. And some aspects of the hotel are fading around the edges--especially compared to The George, nearby. But the Washington Court is definitely on par with the Mayflower and others of that ilk for comfort and dining, if not history and provenance.

The Washington Court Hotel was an unexpected highlight of my recent trip to DC. My room was bright, spacious, and had a FABULOUS view of the Capitol Dome. Hotel staff was helpful and friendly. The in-house restaurant’s food and service were good and reasonably priced. The lobby’s multiple seating areas are elegantly furnished yet comfortable and inviting open spaces to socialize, read, or work on your laptop. The hotel is conveniently located only 2 blocks from Union Station, which not only turned out to be DC’s ground-transportation hub, but also a great place to dine and shop. The Washington Court Hotel was an unbelievable value for the money and I would highly recommend this property to family, friends, or anyone I want to impress.

Hello, a repeat stay at this wonderful hotel. Its located a 5 minute walk from Union Station in quite neighborhood., This hotel is within walking distance of the US CAPITAL and the museums. It makes a great business location, quite rooms comfortable beds. The food is good, and the drinks at the bar cold and well poured by bartenders who know how to make you smile.

Fo someone who finds this hotel on the internet and wonders the aqnswer should be yes, and yes the front desk will answer all the questions you may have. and well for thoase with families, its quite, cost effective and close to the mall. US capital end of mall.

So yes I would stay again and gain.

Stayed here with the family for Thanksgiving. The room was clean and the location was excellent. Only two block from union station. Service was ok. The only other thing was the shower pressure could be better, if you need good shower pressure, this hotel might not work for you.

We have just arrived back from a great weekend at the Washington Court Hotel where we stayed for 2 nights on a Groupon deal. I was a little nervous on arrival as i'm never quite sure what to expect on a cheap deal (and it was cheap, $89 per night for a room for 2 adults and 3 kids) but I was extremely pleased regarding all aspects of the hotel. On checking in we were told that we'd been upgraded to a King Room and it was huge! There was a desk/work area, a table and four chairs, a large bed settee and a huge bed! This is one of the few hotels that i've stayed in where, even with the bed settee made up and the roll-away bed up for the kids, there was still plenty of space to move around. The bathroom was spotlessly clean and the bed linen was great. My only complaint would be that the pillows were a little firm, for my taste, but the housekeeping staff changed them as soon as we asked. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel, but did eat dinner in the bar area on the night we arrived. The menu was very good and the staff were really helpful and offered to make the kids any kind of pizza that they wanted, as the choices on the menu were a little grown up for my smallest. The food and service was excellent. The hotel is located a 5 minute walk from Union Station and from there we were able to catch the hop-on hop-off trolley bus tour, which was a great way to get around. I really couldn't recommend this hotel enough.

Here for a business trip. Checked in at 11:00 PM and gone by 8:00 AM. Room was clean. As someone that runs/works out the location can't be beat as 2 blocks from Capital Hill and workout room nice.

Common area large and comfortable.

Good value.
