My review is tainted by a particularly uncomfortable experience. The HayAdams is a lovely hotel perfectly situated near the White House. The fixtures are elegant and the rooms well-kept.
I stayed here as a single traveller for a business event. On the first two nights, several rooms on my floor were propped open and on the second two, the end of the hall hosted a suited man just standing. My inquiries at the front desk prompted blank stares until I asked loudly "why is there a man lurching at the end of the hallway"
In hushed voices, I was told this was a special guest.
I suppose the HayAdams is lovely for "special guests" but for regular travelers, it is a bit stressful. If a floor guest needs security, I wonder about my own safety down the hall.
The front desk staff needs better training to address the concerns of travelers and perhaps an early notification of this unusual circumstance would have allayed my concerns.
I won't return.
