“Nice but bed was uncomfortable”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

Nice hotel. Very nicely appointed. Good bar and the staff was great.
One critical thing was missing..a comfortable bed. Not trying to be stuck up..the bed felt like it was very old. Springs everywhere in your back. This hotel would be a 4 or 5 rating easily if we had gotten a better bed. Its in a great location that is just a short walk to the White House.
Other than the bed, we really liked the hotel. Our room was big and nicely decorated.

An unexpected getaway in DC landed me at this hotel. The location was perfect. It was a beautiful room with an amazing view. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I would stay here again and recommend it to friends traveling to DC. We had brunch at the restaurant downstairs and it was delicious! Definitely a must if your schedule allows.

Expensive parking. Was in town for the CBC weekend and it was wonderful. The staff courteous and helpful. The room was very decent and spacious. It was clean and the price was great. The location was amazing.

My son lives in this trendy neighborhood and this is one of our favorite places to stay when we visit. The accommodations are always impeccable and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. The rooftop bar is very nice too.

Room Tip: The suites are very nice and worth the upgrade.

I highly recommend the Beacon hotel. It was an amazing experience. The staff are courteous, helpful and are always willing to go above and beyond. I was upgraded to a very spacious and very comfortable. They respond to every request with a sense of urgency. This show that hey truly care for the customer. The location of the hotel is just right. Kingsley was amazing and always making little jokes with a big smile. He and his supervisor (Steve) are always willing to help and answer every question. If I can get the same room every time I will stay at the hotel. I hope Steve keep his promise.

Room Tip: Free pass to YMCA for swimming pool

Stayed at the Beacon the weekend of Sept 15, 2012. Great spot. There's something for everyone... friendly staff, comfy room, flat screens, happy hour every day (reduced food and drink prices), roof-top location with city vistas, more drinks and just general schmoozing; short walk to the White House, National Mall and other tourist venues, walking distance to several fine restaurants including I Ricci if you like Italian cuisine and Dupont Circle's bistros to the west. Really surprised at the reasonable rates which were below those of nearby hotels charging $350 nightly and up.

This hotel is located near my company's Washington offices, so I stay here with some regularity. For me, its best feature is its combination of convenient location and, for DC, affordable prices. It's handy to anything in the DuPont Circle area, as well as to the Metro - and even the National Mall and all of its attractions are only a healthy walk away. It's a very nice area - embassies are all around as are excellent restaurants. The rooms, which vary in size and shape, are comfortable and well equipped with all of the regular amenities you'd anticipate: flatscreen TVs, nice quality of linens, contemporary furniture, etc. I have occasionally had breakfast but not other meals - breakfast was fine. In summer there is a rooftop bar that is a lot of fun.
