“Quiet boutique hotel, large room, large walk-in shower, kitchenette”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2011

Carlyle Suites is located on a quiet street in the Georgetown area of Washington, D.C., five or six blocks from Dupont Circle. The room was surprisingly large with a couch as well as a dining table and three chairs just off a kitchenette that featured a small refrigerator, stove and microwave. The shower was an open, walk-in affair. The bed was nice and firm. It was raining the morning I had to attend a conference. I asked the deskman to call a cab, but instead he put on his raincoat, grabbed an umbrella and walked several blocks to a major intersection to try to flag one down. Although he was unsuccessful, I admired his willingness to serve a guest. I was able to find a cab on my way to Dupont Circle. I would definitely stay there again.

Having stayed at more expensive hotels in the area, I found Carlyle Suites to be the perfect stay. Not only was the room clean, efficient, and well-equipped (and super comfy bed), but the service and front desk staff were incredible. I was really blown away. The service here was far better than that of a $350/night stay at a hotel around the corner. Their responsiveness and attentiveness was much appreciated for a new iron and internet outage. They literally responded within minutes. The location & view are perfect as well, rates are reasonable, and it's great for an extended stay. The windows even open so if it is a gorgeous cool day, you can take advantage of that option as well. Also, complimentary gym passes to the Washington Sports Club!

Not gonna repeat everyones inputs, but the place is fantastic, the rooms are spacious, comfortable and the kitchen is great, cos even though its a holiday, sometimes you feel like just knocking up some home style food and great for making your own packed lunches.
Staff were really good, and very helpful with local info.
The ability to borrow a Lap top is also a fantastic service!

We truly enjoyed our 3 night stay in Washington, DC. I think that the Carlyle Suites gave us a great value that couldn't be topped by any other hotel that I looked into. We took advantage of the Staying Power package which discounted the already reasonable rates by 30%. The Staying Power package also included 20% off of the measls at the hotel restaurant Twist (the dinner we had there was excellent). We are a family of 5 so the kitchen was a great help since it's hard to get everybody up and going for breakfast when they just want to linger in their pajama's a little longer. Our 8th floor room (with 2 double beds and a pullout couch) was clean, comfortable and very quiet. The bathroom was small but new and very clean. There is a vanity area right outside the bathroom that helped to keep time at the bathroom mirror to a minimum. We brought our laptop with us and took advantage of the free Wi-Fi (daily Wi-Fi charge at other hotels was around $12). The Dupont Circle neighborhood was perfect, we wish we had more time to explore the restaurants. There is a Safeway grocery store nearby where you can pick up any food or snacks that can be stored in the kitchenette or mini-fridge. The free parking was also a huge value considering parking garages and other hotels in the city charge $20 - $30 a day. We parked the car and didn't move it for the whole weekend, taking advantage of the short walk to the Metro. We had dinner one night in the hotel restaurant Twist and we all agreed that our meals were delicious and perfect, especially after a long day of sightseeing and walking. My son intended to take advantage of the gym pass but was too tired from our busy days to do so. The staff was very helpful and courteous and made us feel very comfortable. We couldn't have asked for more except that we wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Washington.

I just joined Trip Advisor and I am happy to make my first review for the Carlyle Suites Hotel! I recently stayed here with friends for a leisure weekend and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. First off, the hotel is extremely pet friendly! I was able to bring my dog Rocco, who had as warm of a reception as I did by the front desk staff (Thanks Carlos!)

The room was a good size, very clean and lots of closet space. The bathroom was new, all marble with chrome fixtures, a glass shower divider and cool bathroom amenities. But the best part was the bed! The Carlyle actually has tempur-pedic beds in every room. If you have never slept on one, then try this hotel ASAP! They have great support and the comfy duvets create a magical sleep.

They also have a full kitchen in the room with a fridge and stove too. Good WiFi and fancy coffee makers. This is a great hotel! I hope you like it too!

We just returned from a wonderful 4 night stay at the Carlyle Suites in Dupont Circle, Washington DC. We were very impressed with this hotel. It's spotlessly clean, located in a residential area, (easily walkable to many reasonably priced restaurants - recommend Dupont Italian Kitchen) and 3 blocks to the metro station with a 3 stop ride to downtown and the National Mall. The hotel staff were very helpful with parking, extra coffee pods and ice. The large kitchenette was fully stocked, including cookware, dishware, flatware, utensils, dishtowel and soap. There is a free parking lot in back of the hotel and our little dog was able to travel with us and stayed free of charge. All in all we couldn't have been more pleased!

We've had to travel to DC several times in the past few months to visit an ailing parent. Luckily, I discovered Carlyle Suites as it serves as a haven at the end of the day: quiet, withing walking distance to nice restaurants, area surrounded by beautiful architecture, nice clean room with no particular frills but has everything you need (including Keurig coffee maker) and all at the right price. Great access to the Metro and there's a zipcar parked just a few blocks away. We will keep returining as long as they keep it this way!
