We, an elderly but active couple, stayed here for 4 nights in late April. Very roomy suite, beautifully furnished. Bathroom like new, good kitchen. Superb location as long as you are happy to use the Metro, very good price, with helpful staff. Spotlessly clean. Very poor lighting in the bedroom, so we could not read in bed. The kitchen was quite well equipped, but a few minor omissions were noticeable - I will email the manager separately about these, as I would not wish to unfairly criticise such minor points. Possibly items removed by previous guests. Very nice restaurant, where we had a good farewell dinner before leaving the next morning.

Having booked this hotel quite a few months in advance I was delighted that when we arrived at 8am after a red eye flight from Honolulu we were able to check in to our room. This was an amazing gift for us so that we could shower and change before a days sightseeing. Also we were upgraded to a beautiful one bedroom apartment which was a fab treat. The beds are really comfortable and we didn't have any issues with the wifi. Great location and just a short walk to Foggy Bottom metro and White House. Would definitely stay here again.

Hotel has two towers, one is in the process of being renovated, the other is finished. We stayed in the renovated section. We were all pleasantly surprised by the size and anemities of the room (changing room with vanity, kitchen complete with stove) and especially pleased with the hotel's walking proximity to the monuments. There's a fairly extensive workout room, and the restaurant on site had a really solid menu (great breakfast!).

Staff was on top of things all around. Desk clerks were outgoing, cleaning staff was friendly, and one of the doormen pointed us out to a parking spot RIGHT in front of the hotel and told us exactly when we would need to move it come the end of the weekend to avoid a ticket (this saved us a ton in parking costs).

Our only complaint was that it was a bit of a hike to the nearest METRO station; which in the great scheme of things, isn't really a terrible thing.

We stay here for the Rolling Thunder Motorcycle event. Last year was great! They had saved all of our riders a parking spot just for our motorcycles. Check in went fast with no problems. However, this year was a mess! They were not prepared for us at all and check in took forever and was all messed up! To start with the guys working the parking area was very very rude! And not friendly at all!!! Then once we were checked in they had given two of the couples with us the same room so they had to go back down and go through the long check in again, with the not so friendly people working the front desk! And still one of those rooms were not right. We have reserved a king room and eneded up with a double bedroom. When asked about the room simpley was told they had no more king rooms, even though that is what we had reserved! On the positive, housekeeping is great and friendly The rooms are very clean and lots of room in them. The hotel is in a great location and walking distance to many attractions and restaurants.

We recently traveled to DC for the Rolling Thunder motorcycle parade during Memorial Weekend. Previously we had stayed at this hotel eight consecutive years and brought friends with us. We always booked at least 4 to 5 rooms. In the past, we were welcomed and check in was smooth. The hotel was always prepared to park motorcycles in their garage and we were treated with the utmost courtesy. This trip, however, they were NOT prepared for our parking needs. We were rudely turned away from our usual spots, and it took over an hour for the valet staff to move cars and make room to park our motorcycles (which they knew were coming). We were treated as if we were an annoyance and as if we were not the right "class" to stay at this establishment. We soon learned from the staff that the hotel was under new management. Well, this management did not seem adequately prepared for the portion of the 450,000 bikers that came to DC this weekend that were staying at this hotel. While the rooms are clean and the location is convenient for our needs, we will take our business elsewhere next year to an establishment that respects all customers.

Dear Debra T,

Thank you so much for leaving your review and providing us with your feedback. I am very sorry that you were given this perception of our hotel, as my team and I always look forward to welcoming all our guests participating in Rolling Thunder. Yet one of the challenges that we encountered this year was a higher than normal parking demand along with part of our south building garage being under construction. Please feel free to contact me via email at generalmanager@stateplaza.com to further discuss this matter, as I trust you will give us another opportunity to welcome you back next year!

Best Regards,

This is a very nice hotel that gives you a warm wellcome trough its friendly staff. The hotel has good rooms, comfortable and nicely decorated.
The price is very reasonable for what they offer.
They have a well trained staff.
One area they could improve is the food they offer wich is good but with limited choices.

We have had an amazing stay at State Plaza! The rooms were quiet, spacious and included a dressing room with vanity, as well as a kitchenette with table for two! We ate all of our breakfasts in the room and were even able to heat up leftovers, from dining out, for an additional dinner, saving us money! Walking distance to all the attractions, and valet parking gave us easy access to our car when needed. Definitely will stay here again!
