“nice rooms, good service and nice pool”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2011

The hotel is conveniently located on 24 and M, right in foggy bottom, and close to georgetown and dupont circle (although for this last area there are many closer choices). Rooms are quite nice, and the service was efficient. In the mornings, the very nice pool this hotel has was empty (can't understand why!) and the fitness facilities are more than ok. Elevators have seats (unusual!) and contrary to other Hyatts (Hyatt Kiev, Hyatt Churchill in London, etc.) they work well and are fast. In my second stay, I was lucky enough to have enjoyed a free upgrade to a room on the 9th floor, which was quite big and comfortable. Overall, this Hyatt DC seems a very solid choice to stay especially for business. Something negative? Apart from the restaurant of the hotel, there are not many good restaurants in the area. And 24 and M in the evenings (i.e. 10pm) is extremely quiet and boring (even more than regular DC, which is a lot to say!).

We stayed here for a quick overnight and did not get to enjoy any of the extras, but the room was exquisitely appointed and the staff attentive. The room was soothing, no electronics were apparent. My only complaint was that it was too hot, but that turned out to be my fault as the control was tastefully hidden.

The hotel is very nice and the rooms are big enough. Service is also great, and I can’t really complain about anything. I would suggest that you ask for a room that is facing the street because otherwise the view will be terrible. They offer free BMW 7 series sedan for transportation within DC on the first come first serve basis, try to take advantage of this. Also, check out the Blue Duck Tavern, the food is great there.

As you would expect from a hotel of this range it has all the basics right but there is more to this place than a good standard business hotel. I felt duty bound to comment on how wonderful and genuine the staff were. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel special, they took care of our every need from the doorman offering me cold water on return from my morning run to the accurate and personal restaurant recommendations, nothing was too much trouble and it all felt very sincere too. Even my husband, who usually hates the often impersonal service of these large hotels, was impressed.

The restaurant is also well worth a visit. Quite unusual food but lovely, scallops like saucers, divine! Also delivered by the same friendly and personal service.

Would definitely go back.

The Park Hyatt is one of the finest hotels I have stayed at in the world. The customer service displayed by its entire team is consistently extraordinary. I think it is terrific that this Park Hyatt in Washington employs people from all over of the world, many of them from prominent Hyatt properties in distant places. They are enjoyable to get to know and always embody top notch customer service skills. (Frankly, something that Americans in the service and hospitality industry could learn from.)

The decor of the Park Hyatt Washington is exquisitely minimalist. The rooms are large and comfortable. The restaurant, the Blue Duck Tavern, is one of the finest in Washington, DC, and truly world class.

If you want a good splurge, this is your place!

This local stable is one of the most romantic hotels to take that special someone to. Blue Duck Tavern has an awesome ambience to accompany my style in showing that special lady a magnificent, well deserved time. The staff is out of this world. From the greeting by Mustafa (Bellman) to Daniel (Front Desk Manager) to most of the staff. There was one or two staff members that I wasnt use to seeing...they made me feel like they just didnt care to please the guest. They were not very pleasurable staff members at all. You just have to know how to ignore those type of people and not let them steal your joy.

Room Tip: Ask to pay for a Park Deluxe King...it is very roomy and quite romantic. A Park Suite is great too i...

After spending 6 weeks traveling throughout the united states, we rated this hotel at the top of the list for customer service, location, room quality and style. I love the wide timber floor boards used throughout the foyer....beautiful!
I'll be back someday!
