“Pleasant short stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 days ago NEW

This was my second time at the hotel. A good location within walking distance of a lot of things so a good choice for tourists and those in town for business. I was given a nice room which had been recently renovated. Staff very helpful and kind. Would have been nice to have an EU-US adaptor :) Breakfast is a bit limited but good if you like bagels and pastry in the morning.

Room Tip: Try to get one of the newly renovated rooms.

My fiancée and a colleague both booked rooms at this hotel, each using different travel sites. Upon arrival, they were both told that their rooms were "Out of Service." No prior notice had been given. They were both shunted off to a hotel nearby that cost $100 less per night. No one lifted a finger to make things right. They have no night manager. The manager gets to clock in at 9am and out at 5pm. Because no one in DC would arrive after 5pm so why bother having a manager on site until after dinner. This place looks nice, and if you aren't forced to pay money for a room you don't get, I bet you could have nice time there. The moral of the story seems to be that they deal very poorly with people booking through travel sites. So if that's you, think about paying rack rate through the hotel site - I bet you won't find that your room is "Out of service" when you arrive.

Room Tip: Book through the hotel site. Call regularly to make sure your room is not "Out of Service"

Recent business trip to DC convention so tried this historic inn. It is a lovely old mansion in need of updating. Spacious but spartan room/suite had rug in need of cleaning or replacement. Bathroom was oddly configured and dark, and certainly not updated. Room faced courtyard where construction started early and with vigor! Breakfast was cold but really excellent. Would not stay here until new rooms open.

Of the three places we stayed in D. C., this was our least favorite. The staff were all very nice, but our room was very old and cramped. They are updating the inn with a new wing on the back, so it may be better to stay in that after it's finished. It wasn't a huge deal because we weren't in our room much, and it was a pretty good location. There is a continental breakfast in the morning which was a plus.

We were greeted by Godissa and Eyob looked after our luggage. Both men were very friendly and really informative. We instantly felt welcome and valued. What a lovely surprise and the location absolutely perfect.

Room Tip: Noise is typical of that in a big city. But close the windows and all is good!!

The people could not have been more accommodating that worked there. Plus they have a great front porch to have your nightly glass of wine (free) and people watch! I was pleased with the amenities considering the age of the building ! Very good service!
