“Huge room, but noisy at night”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

We stayed for five nights, and generally were happy with our stay. However, the room temperature was hard to control (usually too hot), the phone worked intermittently, the front staff could not take a reliable message (even though they were very friendly and cheerful), and laundry did not get returned to our room (we had to chase it down a day late).

Our room overlooked the back alley and every night at about 4 am there was garbage pick up with great clashing of huge garbage bins, beeping of trucks backing up, and noisy engines. Friends on the street side also found their room noisy from street traffic (though quieter in the early hours).

There was a small kitchen attached to the room, which was great for coffees, refrigerating snacks and making breakfast and small lunches. The business office was free, and there was a small coin laundry in the basement if you wanted to "do it yourself". Hard to rate, as some things were great, and others not so good!

Room Tip: Ask for a higher up room so MAYBE it will be quieter?

The Quincy is in a great central location, close to the Metro. The room was large enough and had everything we could have wanted. The bed was comfortable, the a/c worked fine, and was adjustable. The bathroom had a secondary area with the fridge and microwave, so as not to be in the "bathroom, proper". The in-room safe was large enough and conveniently located.

The staff was helpful and courteous. The pub seemed to keep odd hours though, and closed early on the Saturday night we were lodged there. A shame, it was a neat place with great food.

The room rate was reasonable, and we will definitely stay there again.

Enjoyed my first stay at the Quincy in DC. Very friendly staff, large rooms, easy access to Metro. Easy walking to good restaurants, National Mall, tourist spots and more.
The rooms are larger than most in-town hotels with coffee maker, refrigerator, seating area, cable, Internet, large comfortable bed, full length dressing mirror,shower/tub combo.

I recently stayed at the Quincy for a class, but then Huriccane Sandy came along and shut down DC. The room we stayed in was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was excellent and took the time out to walk around the area in the rain and wind to find out which places were open, which weren't very many due to the metro closing for 2 days. The front desk staff always answered any questions that we had and always greated us when we entered the lobby. My class has been rescheduled for April and will be staying at the Quincy again, because of the great location, value and their great staff. Hopefully no storms will shut down the city this time.

The Quincy was a wonderful place to stay. The rooms were quite large for downtown DC and decorated in a modern but comfortable way. The bed was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was clean. Highly recommend!

The location was near enough to Dupont Circle to enjoy the local restaurants as well as near the White House for the sightseeing we wished to do. Easy walking access to the metro is also important to me.

There is a small sitting area/lobby but that was not an issue as our room had such a nice sitting area with sofa....very roomy. The bed and comforter were very comfortable.

Last and certainly not the least was our interaction with the staff. Whether asking a question about how to get somewhere or riding in the elevator with a staff person, all were knowledgeable and friendly and genuinely seemed to care about us as guests. We were even able to get a late checkout to accommodate our late international flight.

The lobby had that boutique feeling to it - small and personal and the rooms were HUGE. It makes me think the building was an apartment building in a former life. The beds were clean and comfortable and so was the sectional sofa. The bathroom was clean and hot water was plentiful. Parking was onsite and believe me - you have nothing to worry about. It is secure and only accessible by asking a front desk personnel to physically operate the door. Inside it's literally built like a bomb shelter. If World War III broke out I'd head for The Quincy.
