“Nice hotel in a great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2011

The hotel is very nice and the location is awesome.
At check-in we requested a room with a view. The guy at the counter gave us a nice "hospitality" room with a balcony and a beautiful view of the Washington monument. We did not use the valet ($40/day) . Instead we found a parking garage right around the corner on 13th st. (next to Chef George) for $12/day (weekend rate) that you can actually access from the hotel lobby.
We didn't eat at the hotel , but we did have breakfast at the Corner Baker (next door) which we enjoyed. It was also much cheaper than the hotel buffet.

Perfect spot for a sisters' weekend. View of Washington monument at night was awesome. Expensive but worth the splurge. Will definitely return.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for a room facing Pennsylvania Avenue. It's worth it.

My husband and I stayed here for three nights on our first east coast trip and I don't think we could have found a better place. We did rent a car while staying because the Metro is so convenient, but this hotel is right in the thick of all the things we wanted to visit so we were able to walk everywhere. Check-in was easy, even with us arriving early due to flight schedules. Our room (I requested an upper floor) faced the quiet courtyard so we never had any street noise. While not a huge room, it was clean and the furniture comfortable, especially the bed! Nice Linens and great pillows! The bathroom was clean with granite counters. We were able to get a decent rate through one of their discounts so make sure you check them out before booking. We will definitely be back!

My family and I have visited DC many times and always stay here. The hotel has a perfect location and is walking distance to many of the memorable sites. The staff is friendly and helpful and the hotel itself is very pretty and tasteful(in a glittery way if you know what I mean). There really isn't any fault I can find with it. Highly recommended!

The hotel was perfectly located for us as we arrived by train and were able to walk to the hotel in 25 minutes. It was a very short walk to all the tourist sites such as the White House, Mall, Smithsonian museums, Newseum etc etc. We'd actually purchased an open top bus tour of Washington prior to arriving there but because we were so centrally located there was no use for it.

The room was huge (2 queen beds), clean and nicely presented with a 42 inch LCD TV (a Godsend when you have a baby who needs to be in his cot (crib) by 7pm).

It was a fantastic experience and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Geniously located, the hotel might be your survivor if you want to go to the airport and also to the city centre. The rooms are exceptionally clean and the facilities in the hotel are ok.
Let's say it was a classic JW Marriott and it's very difficult to experience a disappointment in any case.

This was a very nice hotel and in a wonderful location. Our room was clean and inviting. Everything thing was very up to date. We loved the elevators - extremely efficient! We utilized the pool as well and it was clean and well taken care of. The hotel is only blocks from the White House, the Mall and from the Metro Center stop which is ideal for seeing the city. We would definitely stay there again!
