I love a boutique hotel - as a matter of fact i prefer them. But this one was just odd. The decor is reminiscent of a hip hotel designed in the 90's - but I hear that this one is actually rather new, so I'm a little confused.
The beds are quite comfy, so I'll give credit where credit is due. That said, the remainder of the room is eclectic to the point of annoying. The green dresser, the obnoxious book shelf stereo, the oversize lamps hanging over the bed, it was all just, well.... odd. And possibly trying too hard.
But, to Kimpton's credit, I did just stay at their Eventi in NYC, which was awesome, so I wouldn't rule out Kimpton Properties, just maybe not this one...
