Stayed for one night over a weekend and really enjoyed the quality of the hotel and location. We had a package including parking and breakfast -well worth it once you start adding up parking in downtown DC and the hassle of retrieving your car. Breakfast was a full buffet and great way to start the day. The museums and shopping are very close-not more than 10 minutes walk. Metro is just outside the hotel lobby.

The room was clean and very new (they note recent renovations) not overly large but we were not there for hanging out in the room. There was security to be sure only guests had access to the guest room floors. Concierge was helpful with dinner reservations. There is coffee shop and gift shop for snacks and items you may have forgotten. I would recommend this hotel if you were sightseeing or in town to enjoy fine dining or clubs.

We had a nice, well appointed room at a fair price. The location can't be beat as Metro Center is a short walk from the hotel. The only negative was the poor service we experienced at the restaurant. It took forever to be seated for breakfast and our order was taken only after we complained.

i stayed at the marriott for a conference in nov. It's typical of a chain hotel, but what made it different was its location to the metro (worth the cost of the hotel, which was reasonable). so close and convienent and it was a major metro stop. it's also really close to major attractions. you can walk in any direction and be good. my only complaint is that for a chain hotel i normally expect a certain standard of service which i didn't feel i got. I found out a couple of days before i left that the price i paid (which didn't include breakfast) was now a special that did include breakfast. so when i got to the reception, i inquired about the possibility of being given the breakfast vouchers. in my experience, hotels try and bend over backwords to help you, especially chains because they have a certain standard they want to maintain. but i was told that i couldn't have the breakfast voucher, which i felt was extremely unreasonable.

Just wanted to echo the last review. 5 stars. I'd write all the same stuff, but let me just say you can trust the last review. We stayed there Veteran's weekend, November, 2004. Very good staff.

Only 1 complaint regarding double beds: they use a sheet that kind of comes off the bed during the night--at least for us. Not a fitted sheet. My wife says all hotels use the non-fitted bottom sheets. I've never noticed (I guess because they've never slipped around like that). I don't know what to say about that. It wasn't a big deal...I just like everything to be perfect and it was a bit annoying at times to have to tuck my sheet back in, but we were two adults per little double bed so that might have had something to do with it. King bed may be different.

Still, five stars for sure. If you can get a good deal (it was a bit expensive for us, as it was a holiday weekend), grab this hotel!
