“Middle of everything”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW via mobile

I stay at this hotel for 5 nights in Decmber 2015. This is my first time in Washington DC. Luckily, I made a right decision to choose to stay at this hotel. The hotel is located in the middle of everything such as shops, restaurant, and most of Washington, D.C. attractions. If you like to walk, you can walk to White House, library of congress, United states of Capitol, national mall (not a shopping mall, but the name of area), a lot of museums to spend time with (mostly free admission).

Hotel staffs are ok, but I donmt feel the are very friendly like other grand Hyatt or hyatt hotels I stayed before.

Room size is comfortable and clean. Unfortunately, they have been renovationing something on the lobby floor which cause some noise during the day (I think that's why they have special discount at the time I book).

Overall, I am satisfied with this hotel and recommend to other to wish to come to visit Washington dc.

In the Hotel Impossible review standard, this hotel is definitely NOT a 4-star hotel. Originally, with my first take I gave it 3 stars but after closer review saying 2.5 stars is being kind. I know a lot of people gave this place a much higher review. I guess people have much lower standards than expected or they like getting ripped off. I stayed in many 4-star hotel and this is not one of them. Here are the reasons:

1. Cheap looking bathroom vanity
2. TV stand with 1/2 inch stone top
3. Food crumbs between nightstand and bed.
4. Stained bed sheets
5. White crusty sofa pillow (my kid sat on it I almost had to sanitize him)
6. White stain marks on arm chair
7. Brass elevator in extremely poor condition.
8. White stain on many walls
9. White stain bed apron
If I had a black light I probably would vomit.
10. Very sad in room coffee counter

I have posted pictures of all this on site. Take a look and decide for yourself. If you paid anything over $125 a night I feel sorry for you.

My daughter is a student in DC and this is my fourth visit to DC this year. The Grand Hyatt is the fourth hotel I have stayed in and by far the best. The convenience to the Metro is fantastic. It is so easy to go anywhere in the city by Metro so having the Metro Center Station under the hotel was great. The hotel itself is very nice, clean and accomodating. Denae checked me in and was extremely pleasant and helpful. She took the time to inquire why I was in DC and we have a very nice conversation about the city. It was a great way to start the weekend. We had the breakfast buffet on Sunday morning and it was very good. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was wonderful and I have absolutely no complaints about the hotel. The Starbucks in the lobby was also a convenient bounus.
This hotel will be first on my list for the next trip.

Room Tip: If you are taking the Metro exit at 11 and G streets. The access to the hotel is right there, very c...

Great hotel. I really don't have any complaints. The rooms were nice (very comfortable bed), the lobby is really cool, the staff was friendly, and the location was perfect. The worst thing I can say about it is that I wish the coffee cups in the rooms were bigger. I'll definitely be back.

Wonderful beds, great food and outstanding staff! The Cure restaurant I would highly recommend. Remarkable service and delicious. You also have excellent access to the Metro from this hotel...no need to go outside. Beautiful facility and very clean.

My wife and I had the chance to stay at the Grand Hyatt recently and had a fantastic time. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, the hotel's location is great, and the ambiance is typical Hyatt. Next time you need a room in the Nation's Capitol - the Hyatt is a great IDEA.

A very good 4star hotel in the heart of downtown DC. Although rooms (mine was on the 6th floor) need a renovation, they are still well kept. The lobby is spectacular, the breakfast area impressive with the tables around a "lake" and the staff is friendly.
