“Wonderful hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2013 via mobile

This place is fabulous. The suite was very spacious, and accommodated 6 of us very comfortably. The breakfast is amazing! It puts other hotels "hot" breakfast to shame; made to order omelets, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs...the list goes on. Not only that, they have a cocktail hour with free drinks and snacks. (Don't forget to tip the bartender.). The pool and hot tub were perfect after a long day of walking. The concierge was extremely friendly and helpful. The only bit of warning is that the elevators can get a bit crowded during peak times, so you end up waiting around for a bit, but that happens with any large hotel. The price was very reasonable for everything you were getting. I definitely recommend this hotel.

Hard to miss the large groups of school children - not the hotel's fault but definitely has an impact on your stay. But this is Washington DC so that's what you get. Didn't even attempt to use the pool - I didn't think it would be enjoyable to compete with all the kids. Lines at breakfast were quite long if you showed up at the same time as a class. Some groups were better behaved than others but - once again - not much the hotel can do about that.

I am a big fan of Embassy Suites and this is a typical Embassy Suites. The extra room you get with a suite is great when you are jet lagged. Comfortable beds, decent bathroom, microwave and fridge in the room. We loved the Whole Foods market which was nearby. Great being able to get salads and fruit to enjoy in the room. The room was quiet, couldn't hear any kids from inside the room.

I found the combination of dark walls, energy saving lightbulbs and rainy days made the hallways quite gloomy. A brighter decor and better lighting would lift the place a lot. Once we got in our suite it wasn't as dark.

We all had a hard time getting wifi to work - feel sorry for the front desk having to play tech support all the time. Access to the Business Center was handy and generally we just used that but I think working wifi in guest rooms should be included as standard.

The walk to the metro was a bit further than I expected. It was do-able but there were times when we resorted to a taxi since the whole process took so long. Hotels are expensive in DC so I think what we got was reasonable for the area - albeit pricy.

Great stay, especially nice for families. Great breakfast and nice evening reception. Hotel is quiet and comfortable. Wonderful to not have to leave the hotel for breakfast. Location is good. Lincoln Memorial is 20 minute walk. Accessible by metro to the mall.

I've stayed here several times, always for business. The breakfast is good, you've got to try the omelettes. You choose the ingredients and the chef makes it while you wait.. And they have a managers reception every evening with free drinks. Rooms are spacious and clean. I've never had a problem.

Enjoyed our stay - very family-friendly hotel. Parking lot is too small for this hotel, had to park down the street at the Ritz. Expected more from the Washington Zoo package - not worth the additional charge.

My husband and I stayed with our 14 year old son in early June and enjoyed the hotel, staff and amenities. The staff is as excellent as the reviews stated. The breakfast stayed open as long as there was a line (where at other Embassy's we've visited they begin putting away breakfast 10 minutes before the end time) and kept stocking; the doorman had our taxi's ready for us on the two occasions we asked for the service; the room was cleaned and well-stocked with supplies each night. We would definitely stay here again!

My boyfriend and I just wanted a night out in the city (he's based in Quantico for training). I was able to find a great deal for this nice hotel suite, just days before we met up. The original room was under construction. When I called the front desk, they were very prompt in giving us a new room - and one of the newly renovated rooms at that. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel! -HH member
