“Good place to stay in DC”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2013

The hotel is clean and very friendly. Its in a good lotion in that you can walk to the museums and to the White House. The one problem is that the pool is not heated so its not really usable in the winter.

The suite was perfect for traveling with our 2 teenage sons as the sofa bed worked fine for them. There is a door between the rooms that closes for privacy, a large dining table, and tiny frige/microwave/coffemaker area. It was fairly clean.

The atrium is really nice - it doesn't feel like a generic hotel. Our boys enjoyed hanging out there as there are many seating areas to read, talk, and text in. (Free wifi in lobby only - crazy expensive in the rooms.)

Breakfast was included in price, so it was very busy. Plan to wait in line and by the time you find a table, your once hot food will be cold. Perhaps if you eat at the crack of dawn there won't be a wait. The nightly reception is a nice bonus that we looked forward to every day.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is good - a few blocks to the nearest metro location. Parking is expensive.

We thought it was well worth the price and would stay there again.

Lovely hotel, great location, friendly staff and hardy breakfast. We took the train from Norfolk to celebrate the New Year. Had tickets for the 9:30 club that evening. Spent the day sight seeing and then a quick cab ride to the club. The hotel is lovely and the staff were very helpful.

While heading south for the holidays, we stumbled across this gem on line and ventured off the major highway into the big city for some adventure in a popular area...and the price was right! Seemingly a very safe neighborhood, lots of eateries, and close proximity to major sites. We hope to stop there on the return for a couple of days. The major downfall was the price for overnight parking at the hotel - $35 for less than 12 hours - which was more than a third of what we paid for a nice room in the first place and a bit discouraging. Room was comfortable and clean. The complimentary breakfast was good.

We stayed here over Christmas. This is a very nice property with an very interesting lobby with nice fish running along the eating section. My kids love this property. Stanley Wilson made our stay very comfortable and worth while along with Gabriella at the front desk. Breakfast buffet is excellent but get there early like 8am as things can get crowded there. The rooms are very nice and spacious and offer all that is needed for a service hotel. I stayed with my family but the hotel is equally fine for business travelers.

My guy and I spent the night here in order to attend a nearby engagement party and bridal shower. The location is excellent close to plenty of stores and eateries and a good place to walk - seemed very safe. Our room was quite nice. We enjoyed the complimentary happy hour and the excellent hot breakfast. Would definitely return.

Suite was spacious but a bit dated. My son loved it because they had Nintendo Gamecube games on the tv. He said they had a great selection. He also claims his favorite game, Zelda was avalible to play. The Italian restaurant in the hotel was a plesant surprise and exceeded our expectations for a late night snack. Breakfast in the morning was good - the chef who prepared my omlette was very cordial. There is ample off street meter parking if you want to save the $40 overnight valter charge.

Room Tip: Corner suites cost a little more but are much bigger.

We want to thank you for staying with us and leaving a review on Tripadvisor. We are glad to see that we had some of your son's favorite videos games available on the Nintendo 64. I still remember when Zelda for 64 came out and how popular it was so I can imagine the surprise when you son saw that we had it. Please be sure to come back and visit us the next time you are in DC because we would love to have you and your son stay with us again.

Thanks,
