We had a great stay here. The people working here seemed nice but a bit busy.. We waited for a couple of hours for our room even though we were there only 10 minutes before our check-in time. The gentleman behind the desk took my cell number but never called to say the room was ready. Not that I expected a call, unfortunately. I'm so used to such things by now that I never really thought I'd get a call.
The room was hospital clean and nice. It had a different layout with windows looking onto the hallway and the windows in the bedroom looking out onto a building literally just across the alley. So, no view on either side. Bummer. There were a LOT of doors slamming, LOUDLY. That's my biggest problem with hotels, in general. This hotel ranked alongside some much, much cheaper chains in regards to having doors slamming constantly, LOUDLY, down the hallway. Everything worked in the room, although the tv seemed really dark. I didn't mention it, there might have been an adjustment that I couldn't find. The breakfast was outstanding! Made-to-order omlettes, and an area with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, little pancakes, yogurt, great coffee and Bigelow teas, juices and muffins and toast. Also, great oatmeal; not packets but real oatmeal with different toppings that you can add to it. The valet parking was $42 a day and they were super nice as well. One thing that was odd, we couldn't find a public stairway other than the fire stair that went down to the alley. We were just on the 2nd level but we had to take the elevator every time up and down to our room. I'm not sure if I've stayed at a hotel that didn't have a stairway between the floors before. They obviously had a fire stair, but none, that I could find, for general use for those of us that would rather get some exercise (the same ones that take the stairs in-between escalators, etc) (yep, I'm one of THOSE people)..
Over all, it was a great hotel and I'd recommend it. But, I most likely wouldn't stay there again. We ended up switching to another hotel in the Hilton family a couple of blocks away and we like it much better. It's not as fast/loud/etc...
