4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

We stayed over April break with our 2 boys 9&11. Nice room! Tile Floor (that just looks like wood) very dirty, though, a bit sticky and immediately blackened our socks, we had to constantly remember NOT to remove our shoes like we always do. Impressed by the furniture in this ES! Felt spacious and well laid out. Bathroom a bit small, could barely close door, I would have made kitchen a bit smaller & given space to bathroom. Like other ES's, shower curtain vs. Glass enclosure. Finishes good though, granite etc.
I appreciated that staff gave us extra towels without our asking on 2nd day :)

We had an issue with what was apparently our neighbor plugging in some sort of alarm that went off every hour all night long, waking all of us up in the bedroom on the other side of their living room wall. Spoke to front desk next morning, they checked with neighbor, who removed the electronics, thankfully! Surprised the noise transfers through the wall so easily, be aware of what you plug in. 1 less night of sleep for all of us.

Location: redline metro right in basement, which is great, esp if it's raining! Good learning experience for kids of riding metro. Metro a bit pricey though. About 6-8$/pp round trip to center stop ( which is 4-5 blocks to smithsonian). Could park at a garage for $20/ day. DC streets not as crowded as NY or Boston for driving. A few stops to zoo but if you go early, during the week, not high volume timing ( CT had it's break when most others around did not), you could probably get a free spot in 1 of many lots. Metro seems very pricey in comparison. And stops are not that convenient to sites- there's still lots of walking.

There is a whole foods within 2 minute walk. GREAT! They have a fantastic taco station, lots of dinner options and a few seats. Also Cheesecake factory in- building, but it seems understaffed/ chef doesn't seem to be the best... others I've been to were better food/ service. A wait for a table when there were many open.

"mall"- this is not as I imagined. There's a starbucks on 1st floor, CVS, a few other shops, but not a mall. Great to have these places, but just not as I imagined. Galleria across street, also small. Good area if you'd like to visit Jimmy Choo, Tiffany and such. But not a happening place, not as many options as I'd envisioned per reviews.

Breakfast- great! 1st day, a Sunday, there was a bus full in line at 7am. Full back to tv areas. Wait was about 10-15 min though :) BECAUSE one of the onsite managers had chosen to open the second line. His boss (big guy, stubbly) took him aside- where guests could hear him- and chastised him for opening 2nd line! Not appropriate. Busses of people, families, don't come and stay here so we can spend our morning waiting in line!!!! You have to know how to keep it quick, and do so. Rest of our mornings not too busy. Though it would be better if they could figure out how to separate the omelette station from the buffet more, so people who are fine with buffet don't get stuck waiting while those in line for omelette are standing in front of buffet/ holding up entire line.

Bottom line: Not sure if I'd stay at this location again, it was a bit far out from sites and metro is pretty costly and not that convenient. Definitely staying with Embassy Suites again though. We tried ES Convention Center last April, we found that to be Looonnng walk to nat mall, a bit crowded/ long lines at breakfast, and not enough other food options for us/ our kids. Might try one near Dupont circle next year, not sure.

Just came back from a weekend in DC with my kids. Loved that the hotel was in a central location where there are places to go to. Lots of shopping, restaurants, and AMC theater within minutes of the hotel. Finding the parking was a bit confusing, but not too bad. Front desk was very helpful and accommodating, especially Carlotta. The suite was wonderful, and the kids were impressed. Breakfast was one of the best ones I've had in a hotel, with a lot of options in a very beautiful setting. I also liked the logistics of having the metro access within the same building. While the pool was a little small, I think it was fitting for the kids who had a blast in perfectly warm water. It would be a hotel that I would ABSOLUTELY come back to next time I visit DC again!

Room Tip: The 3rd floor is where the dining area is and can get a little busy when people are dining.

We chose this particular hotel because it was moderately priced for the area and very convenient to the subway. The subway is actually just downstairs! The hotel is very large and very nice. It is also attached to a mall with plenty of shopping and conveniences (such as a CVS). There are other shopping options directly outside as well as a variety of restaurant and bar choices. The rooms are clean and typical Embassy Suites as are the breakfasts. The daily 2-hour Happy Hour was a Plus! We enjoyed the beverage selection and snacks. We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: We were one floor above the restaurant area and it was fine.

Stayed one night on an award stay with my family. The hotel as a whole is great. It's located in a good part of town, inside a small shopping complex, right next to the metro (red line). The room was one of the more unique rooms I've stayed in for an embassy suites. The use of faux wood floors were a nice look/feel. The room was clean and quiet overall. The staff was great. The wifi was also very solid. The pool/workout area on the top level was also good. The breakfast was standard embassy, which was also great.

My only qualm was the very low water pressure in the shower, which barely made it usable. I called the front desk to let them know, but I told them not to worry about sending a plumber, since we just needed a brief shower in the morning.

Parking tip: If you stay on weekends, there should be plenty of nearby street parking in the neighborhoods nearby.

Excellent staff who go out of their way (complimentary toothbrushes, toothpaste, and faxing/e-mailing important documents at the front desk). Our king-size room was updated, spacious, and the location in Friendship Heights has excellent restaurants, shopping, within walking distance to beautiful and vibrant Bethesda. Did I mention the Metro is across the street with easy access to downtown DC, the Mall, etc.

Nice shops in the area. Reasonably priced. At check in, we were given our room key and we went up to the room. When we put the key in and walked into the room it was obvious that the people in the room weren't checked out yet. There was no one in the room, but luggage and a woman's purse etc. were on the bed. If I wasn't an honest person, I could have walked off with everything in the room including the woman's purse. We went down to the lobby and immediately reported the problem. We were told that it was a mix up and received an apology. The receptionist gave us free- wi fi as she felt bad for what happened. It didn't give me a warm feeling as I have never had the is happen at any hotel in the past. It was nice that she gave us free wi-fi as the wi-fi is extremely overpriced. My main concern is that we could have walked in on someone showering, honeymooning, who knows what. In the future this kind of thing shouldn't happen. No one should be given a key to a room unless the staff is positive that the other party has checked out. It didn't give us a warm feeling about how the housekeeping staff and the front desk etc. communicate. Despite this unfortunate check in process, the hotel is in a great location. There are lots of shops below and the rooms are clean and nice. Red- line Metro is a few steps out the door.

I highly recomend this hotel. Even though it was the most i ever spent for a room it made up for it with the amenities. Super clean and really nice bedding. Location is spot on with the metro station on site and underground. Never heard a thing.
