“Let there be light”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2013

The location was excellent - easy walk to restaurants, the Metro and buses. Located in a quiet suburban area.
The room was a good size but the bathroom was a bit on the small size. Some additional shelving and towel hooks would have helped.
Our biggest problem with our room was the lack of lighting. We could not read a paper or book of an evening because the lighting was so poor. My husband would sit on the toilet to read the paper.
Breakfast was adequate but lacked variety.

Very clean, great location, but seriously let down by breakfast. You may not expect much for the price, but no effort seems to have gone into it and some was inedible -plastic plates and cutlery give a bad impression, there is little choice, the 'yoghurt' was a sweet artificial concoction, the bananas were so green as to be uneatable, the coffee was terrible, the cheese was tasteless, sweating in prewrapped plastic, there were virtually no healthy options. Wifi was also slow and unreliable. Staff were pleasant but bizarrely all-male. Coffee in the room and milk was not always renewed every day. Soundproofing in rooms is not great.

Stayed here for three nights in an attempt to see the Cherry Blossoms. Got a great rate on bookit.com and compared to the costs of other hotels, it was very affordable. To nitpick...the toilet would run, had to jiggle the handle, the bed squeaked and felt soft but was actually comfortable to sleep on. Breakfast was lacking, especially if you didn't get there early. Mostly carbs - bread, bagels if you are lucky. Only saw cereal one morning. Juice, milk, yogurt, fruit (varied), cheese on some days, plenty of coffee and tea. You are not allowed to bring the food up to your room which is inconvenient when you have a little one.

Location to Metro station was convenient. On the red line and only two stops from metro center so it is easy to transfer. Had free wifi through bookit.com. Valet gives you in and out privileges which we didn't use though it was nice to know it was available. Plenty of places around to eat. Was very happy with the location of the hotel.

I read a lot of reviews on different hotels and was nervous about my selection. Really couldnt beat the price and location. Would stay here again.

The great part about this hotel was its location to the Metro at Dupont Circle. Easy to get to by walking. The neighborhood it is located in is very unique with all the different architectural styles.
We had a room which faced the back of the hotel towards Q St. It was quiet and looked out on the row houses. The room was small and almost not functional for two people with a king sized bed. However, the bed was very comfortable and I thought the room was well insulated. Only heard a few rowdies in the hallways at night. The bathroom was very small and not enough counter space. And above the closet in the hall there was some wallpaper which was torn away and looked like it was that way for repairs. It revealed some bad looking moldy wallboard. It gave me the creeps everytime I saw it. Staff was helpful. Continental breakfast was basic but did the job in the a.m.

The Hotel is located right next to Dupont Circle and only around the corner from the Metro so this makes it very easy to reach all the sights of Washington D.C. and in little time. The area is very busy and has a good nightlife with lots of cafes and restaurants open along with shops and essentials.

The Hotel room itself was very comfortable with lovely views and a spacious comfortable bed and area for luggage and clothes. The bathroom was clean and comfortable to use without any problems. The staff were helpful at the Front Desk and always greeted us on arrival. Free breakfast was continental and basic but still good enough to fill up on.

I would recommend this Hotel for location however price may be slightly high during a normal stay - we stayed during a specials discount period so it was worth it!

The reason that I did not rate very poor was due to its location. 4 things to complain about this hotel - 1. The wall is ultra thin: I can hear the guy coughing next door and when he flushed the toilet. To make it worse, there was a drinking party one night. And the hotel staffs did not seem to be able to control the situation despite two calls to the service line. 2. The elevator is scary: not sure how the maintenance was done. My daughter and I were trapped in the elevator for a couple minutes one day. The elevator did not stop at the floor that we pushed, instead, it went up and down and went back up to the right floor. Since the , my daughter wanted to climb stairs instead. 3. Dated deco - Less bothersome to me given its price. 4. Breakfast - if it was ever an option, I won't choose it.

I was here on a quick business trip. The hotel is in a nice area of town that allows you to move easily (even by foot) to the mayor Washington sights and there is a lot of restaurants right around the corner. The staff of the hotel is very nice and helpful. For a hotel in this price category however I would expect a bit more maintenance of the rooms. Cleaning was not great – some areas certainly needed more attention and there were a few very wet spots on the carpet (I can only hope this was rapid cleaning). Several of the electricity sockets were very old and damaged, which makes charging your equipment a challenge. The bed however is very comfortable and the view from the room is lovely.
