“A great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2014 via mobile

We spent 4 nights here earlier this month. We were warmly welcomed on arrival, we were exhausted from 2 flights so we appreciated that and the speed of the check in. We were notified about the "happy hour" which we availed of several evenings! There was a great buzz in the bar during the happy hour but it got quiet once it ended.
We found the location very convenient for sightseeing. We had beautiful weather so walked a lot. The metro, buses and Hop on and off bus are all very close to the hotel. The Concierge helped us with advice on trips and a hair appointment on a Saturday afternoon at very short notice!
We ate breakfast in the hotel every morning and it really set us up for the day. We had no problem with the sunlight in our room in the mornings, it certainly did not wake us!
There are several really nice restaurants on Conneticut Avenue all within walking distance.
The room was perfect for us, we did not spend too much time in it as it was our visit to Washington and there is a lot to see and do. It was very comfortable and well serviced. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

This is my second year staying at the Dupont Circle Hotel and I will return again next year! This is an excellent property with excellent staff! It is my home away from home when I travel to D.C. and I highly recommend it! Extremely well maintained, clean, and has the additional touches to make you feel special during your stay. The staff is outstanding and room service was quick and delicious! Excellent location in the great Dupont Circle neighborhood and easy walking and train access to everything! I traveled solo and I feel completely safe and secure at this facility and this neighborhood.

Room Tip: 9th floor rooms are worth the extra expense to have the balcony view to relax and enjoy people watch...

My partner and I were married this weekend at The Dupont Circle Hotel. We had a block of 10 rooms for guests and used the penthouse facility for the ceremony, reception, and dinner. From my first call to our check-out, this hotel staff was top notch. I've stayed at Four Seasons, Oberoi, and other very high establishments, and this group approached that level of service.

The good: Clean, crisp rooms for us and our guests. Stellar staff. Excellent cocktails. Superior location in DC. Wedding event was tightly managed. Food was fantastic. All 16 guests had nothing but glowing reviews. Maggie, who helped with wedding planning and execution, was incredible.

Areas of Improvement: Some guests had problems with their room temperature (too hot, would not cool enough). Service at the Bar Dupont was not great to be honest, specifically at the bar itself (however service at the tables and chairs in the Bar was excellent). Note to bartenders: If guests are sitting at the bar, put down whatever prep work you are doing and ask immediately what the guest would like. Some guests waited over 10 minutes or were ignored all together.

Stay at this hotel. Period.

Room Tip: Ask for a room looking outwards towards the neighborhoods or Starbucks. Great views and quiet. Int...

The Dupont Circle Hotel is centrally located, service is impeccable, and the rooms are well appointed. There is a very lively bar on the ground floor, as well as a great restaurant Dupont Cafe, we ate there twice. There is a pharmacy across the circle, a liquor store on Connecticut and Q street, as well as a metro station, and a Capitalbikeshare outside the PNC bank. A short walk/bike ride out P street brings you one of the most happening areas of DC, 14th street. There are a number of restaurants and shops there worth visiting. There is a number of restaurants on Connecticut Ave. There is also a farmers market there on Sunday mornings on the corner of Q st and Connecticut. A 20 to 30 minute walk on Q street will bring you directly to Wisconsin Ave and the heart of Georgetown. Great location whether for family or business. If you get a chance to stay on the Penthouse Floor you will enjoy a great balcony, a well stocked fridge, and coffee maker, as well as complimentary drinks from 6 to 7 pm.

Took my daughter to DC as a grad trip which I made known to the management after booking many months back. Arrived Friday morning and though were early for check in they found us a room. The whole check-in procedure was friendly and took 5 minutes. We had a room on the 6th and found the air-conditioning on but not cooling down the room. I emailed the management and upon returning late that evening from seeing the sights it was all working fine. As well there were, on a plate, 2 delicious little brownies topped with strawberry slices and a card addressed to my daughter congratulating her on her graduation. Hotels that remember the little things make a huge impression.
As well, the rooms are lovely. Just the right size. Some people have complained about the morning light disturbing their sleep but they DO provide eyemasks which should do the trick and was never an issue for us being early risers.
The bathrooms are fine. No door to close but there were no privacy issues. It is open to the sink. Then a glass door separates the sink from the toilet and shower (excellent pressure and temperature control for those interested.) I found the set-up rather attractive and different from the cookie-cutter types of room layout one sees everywhere.
Between the bed and abutting the window is a small day couch which was perfect for putting my suitcase on. There's a desk as well.
Room on the sixth floor was pretty quiet.
In the mornings in the lobby they serve pretty good coffee (I like it strong) from ornate metal urns. The lobby itself has a business centre for printing out boarding passes, and many attractive spots to sit and read a paper or check your emails (free internet throughout and in rooms). They also provide free papers and bottled water.
Location is across the park from the Metro and across the street from Kramer Books (a great place to eat). We also had breakfasts in the hotel which were delicious and filling.
This hotel pays attention to details and that certainly made an impression on us.
Highly Recommended

Room Tip: If you put in a request beforehand for a quiet room higher up and away from the ice machine they wil...

We stayed here for the first time for four days in June. The hotel is very centrally located, very close to the Metro for ease of navigating the city. There are a lot of dining choices nearby as well. The hotel itself was clean and the staff was very attentive. The room was a decent size with 2 double beds, a desk, a bench that served as a couch, and a nice sized closet that had a safe for valuables. The furnishings were nice quality and the beds were very comfortable and clean. The bathroom had a walk in shower with the toilet behind a frosted glass wall. Our room was on the 4th floor and we really didn't notice much traffic noise from DuPont Circle which was right outside. We didn't have much of a problem with the shutters blocking out the sun even though our room faced east as we were up and out the door by 8:00 everyday. We did notice that there was one pull down blind on the short side of the window and brackets on the long window that maybe had another blind there at one time. A couple of issues with the room were the fact that the toilet really didn't flush that well. We probably could have called maintenance to have them address the issue but by the time we got back to the room after a long day of sightseeing, the last thing we wanted to do was wait for someone to come and look at it. While we where there, the temperature outside was in the mid 90's and very humid. The room air conditioner struggled to keep the room tolerable and consequently it was a bit stuffy. The hallways and lobby were very cool and comfortable. As for the frosted glass bathroom door, unless you were traveling alone or are intimately acquainted with your traveling companion, the lack privacy afforded by the frosted glass door could make for some uncomfortable situations. The hotel does seem to host a large number of business conferences, so the lobby always seemed to be very busy especially in the mornings. Keep that in mind when you go down stairs in your jammies to grab a cup of the complimentary coffee. While the bar and restaurant came highly recommended, we didn't visit them. The bar does get VERY busy in the evenings and rather loud, but the noise level doesn't seem to carry up into the rooms.

We will certainly stay here again on future visits.
