“Not worth it”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2012

The only reason we stayed at this hotel was because I did an online search for DC hotels that offered free parking. When this hotel came up, I was skeptical but the reviews made it appear that the hotel was an excellent deal. I was mislead. It was dirty, unkempt and was not a value at all as we paid almost $90 per day, no breakfast and had to pay $1.50 safe fee per day even though we didn't use it. There was no refrigerator nor microwave. I do not recommend this hotel. Our room had dirty walls, mirrors and bedding. When i was checking out, the guest before me complained about a leak in his room, saying he had to come down to the office twice during the night and it was not taken care of. The clerk initially did not apologize and only said she didn't see any notes on file. In my opinion, it was irrelevant...she should have apologized profusely and offered him a discount but did neither. She did give him an insincere apology at the end while she was charging his card for the full amount. Insincere is exactly how I would describe the clerks who work there. The three clerks i observed each rattled off scripted information and lacked customer service skills. No warmth whatsoever.

I thank you so much for your review of our hotel. It is through our guests that stay with us that we get the best feedback on areas we can improve to provide you with the best in customer service. I am sorry your stay was less than extraordinary. That is totally unacceptable on our end, and for that, I apologize. Like almost all DC hotels in the heart of the city, we do charge for parking, although our rates are some of the best in the city. I thank you again for your input. This review will be printed out and given to each of our staff, and it will be used as a training tool.

Thank you,

I came to DC to visit a friend and booked this hotel online. It was an easy check-in and the people were nice and helpful. The location is ok. Not really in walking distance of much but wasn't too far from where we were going. Plus it was more affordable than some of the other hotels. My room was very comfortable, especially the bed. Room was attended to well and staff was very nice. No complaints on my stay. I really enjoyed DC. Would stay at this hotel again. :)

We're so glad you enjoyed your time with us! We do pride ourselves on clean, comfortable rooms, so we're glad that all of our hard work is paying off. While we are not in walking distance to the downtown area, we are only 1 1/2 blocks from the Van Ness Metro station, that gives you access to virtually any spot in Washington, DC. We hope you stay with us again.

The location was great for the price -- we walked 2 blocks to the subway -- and went to the White House and also saw all the memorials -- the subway trip was about 15 minutes. We parked the car at the hotel for $23 which is steep but not as steep as parking in DC
The room was small but clean and updated.
The staff was nice -- especially the admin asst -- the front desk was a bit snotty -- we called and asked for an early check in and were told that isnt happening and that is a quote!
The stay was fine -- chain restaurants, cvs, grocery stores nothing to upscale at all
The whole check in was actually a bit creepy but once we met the admin assistant it seemed to go away. She made the whole hotel much more hospitable and friendly.

One thing I really hate is hotels that smell this one is FINE!!

Easy checkin process. Parking price for the DC area was great. Kept our privacy sign on the door for the whole stay since its not really necessary to clean anything in our room... lets be honest, does the room really need to be vacuumed or the sheets changed when I am only there for 2 days... I don't think so. Though I asked the front desk about the post office and it was not in the direction they said... no biggie thats what googlemaps is for.
