“good hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2012

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. It is a comfort class hotel that's just outside downtown. The metro is not far away (2 min walk), if you take the metro over there you can go to metro center (this metro is the closest to all mayor tourist attractions and places to see)

Leave your car at the hotel (walking in DC is easy and very good to do).

ps: there is also a good italian restaurant next to the hotel (guests get a 10% discount)

This was a last minute spur of the minute booking through BA holidays and it was a great base to explore. The Hotel is just two minutes walk from the underground then five stops to the centre of everything. The hotel is spotless the maids work very hard and the reception team are great I want to say a big thank you to Jonathan and especially to Maria who was so kind and helpful, all the team always had a smile and they always did their best to help, their people management skills are top- notch and I witnessed them dealing with some very akward people. There is no bar in the hotel but right next door is a lovely bar/resturant so its not hard to have a drink before bed.

The rooms are great and big I initally had a double which was big and spacious and then I got moved to a king size room, which was huge. Both were very quiet and the bathrooms although not the biggest had lovely showers.

The rooms have large plasma tvs with a good choice of channels and they all have air con which was needed.

all in all for a value hotel this was great and I would recommend it.

We decided to try a different part of DC on this visit, having stayed on the South West side the last couple of times. We picked this hotel as it in in a semi-suburban area. The Metro is convenient and the area is clean and tidy with shops and restaurants close. We were very happy with the hotel. It is clean, smells fresh and the staff were extremely friendly, polite and helpful. Can't fault them. We struggled a little to manoeuvre the car in the car park - our fault for choosing a behemoth, tho. All in all, a good place to stay. And bless them for having hair dryers and safes!

We stayed here for a couple of nights as part of a tour. There are some positives of this hotel - it is literally up the road from the train station and there is a Starbucks there as well. Across the street was a very good supermarket, CVS and Walgreen's. There was also a safe in the room which came in handy.

However, the rooms badly need refurbishing. The bathroom was dodgy - the water pressure sucked and the shower head nearly fell off! There are random holes in the bathroom walls where they obviously had different fittings i.e. towel rails and such, and it wouldn't take much to fill them in.

Not bad for the location though and the train system was really easy to figure out.

We needed to stay one night in DC in a hotel close enough to downtown and the Days Inn was an easy drive to downtown. We used a Sumer Special and paid only $82 a night. The room was "cozy", but clean and quiet. The area is nice with restaurants within walking distance. Overall this was a much better room and area of DC than when we spent $200 a night for a hotel close to the Reagan Airport. Reminder to anyone driving to DC: all the hotels charge an additional fee for parking. The Days Inn charged $20 a day to park; other hotels have rates from $ 20 to $45 and up a night.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with our hotel. We are very pleased that you had an enjoyable stay with us, and we hope that you will choose our property again. Thank you for posting the tidbit on parking in DC. Like most major cities, parking is at a premium in DC, as there is limited space for free parking in the city. Rather than include the price of parking in the room rate, we separate it so that our guests who may not be driving don't get charged for it. We appreciate your understanding of that dynamic, and again are most appreciative of your business.

The location of the hotel may not be in central D.C. but it is near to a metro stop so the Mall is just a metro train away. The hotel is located in a quiet and safe neighborhood with nearby amenities available (QVC, Starbucks, Subway etc) available. The rooms themselves are great- clean, large yet cozy with the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on. The bathroom is clean with toiletries provided. All in all, it is recommended to stay her if you're ever in D.C.

Typucal budget hotel charging capital city prices. If you are from outside US don't forget that taxes are not included in the quoted price. I have never been able to understand why the full price is never show. Handy for getting into town on the metro which is a five minute walk then ten minute ride. Stations are gloomy but appear to be safe. Rooms were spacious; bathroom clean but shower and other fittings installed by an amateur - they worked OK though. Giant supermarket open late next to metro on east side of street. We toured Vurginia from here so Avis/Budget car hire on site was handy. The ring road is nearby so no need to drive through city centre.
