Definitely centrally located to every major site in the Capitol Hill area. It's tucked away into the neighborhood, across from the Monroe Library of Congress Building and approximately a block from the Metro Station.
Breakfast is located in the second building of the hotel, one building over. Nice array of items found from day to day including fresh fruit (cut and whole), breads, sweets, cheeses, meats, cereal, yogurt, juices, and spreads. After a long day of touring around, join the staff in the main building for wine and munchies between 5 and 6 pm. The wines are excellent with varied munchies. Nice touch after a busy day.
The staff is friendly, available to help always with what appears to be a genuine interest in the guest. We stayed in a queen suite which comes with a kitchenette. A few oddities were evident, one light which controlled the bathroom and closet dressing area. Why is this odd, when you need to go to the bathroom at night the light is shining brightly into the bedroom area. There is one desk chair and one wing back chair, the bedroom area would benefit from either another chair or a love seat for sitting. One night stand, perhaps adding a small stable either near the chairs and love seat would be a nice touch - somewhere other than the floor to place your glass of wine and munchies.
When you combine the pluses and minus, would we stay again - yes. Hope they consider our suggestions.
