“Friendly staff and cozy rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

I enjoyed my stay at the Phoenix Park hotel. The location is great, right across from Union Station and the Metro. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Internet is free and the room I stayed in was small, but comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

Had to go to DC on a quick one night stop for business. Booked room here using another service. The service had really messed up the reservation, but the hotel staff were extremely helpful and worked out the issue. I had a single King room. While the room is small, that was not an issue. Good sized bath and terrific shower. The Irish Pub was a great place to have dinner/evening dring. Breakfast was a little pricey. Close to Union Station so Metro access was a breeze

My husband and I stay at this hotel in January and loved it. It was next to Union Station which made take the metro much easier. Its about two blocks away from the US Capitol building and the National Mall. The room was cosy, clean and a very comfortable bed.

What makes this hotel recommendable is its location so close to Union Station and to everywhere one might wanna go, even walking. The staff was also quite friendly, the rooms nothing to write home about and the price too much for what they offer, at least in our opinion.

Loved the hotel. Staff went above and beyond to accommodate us and give us everything we needed. Super close to everything and metro stop across the street. Staff let us leave our suitcases at the front desk after check out so we could continue our sight seeing. so nice. Very clean too. Will go back!

Apart from the room feeling slightly small and cramped, there are no complaints about this hotel. Décor and cleanliness are well up to standard for this class of establishment and the Irish pub incorporated into it next door is recommended not only for its range of drinks and quality of food but its authentic Irish atmosphere. Its location is good for the Capitol and Union Station, though it is a quarter of an hour’s walk or so to the National Gallery of Art and the other attractions of the city centre.

After a good experience back in 2011 and finding a great deal on hotwire.com, I came back to the Pheonix Park Hotel for 2-nights in January 2013. Like last time, I found the hotel to be very good value, with comfortable and quiet rooms.

The location is great, just a few minutes walks from Union Station and the staff are helpful and attentive. The only downside to the hotel is that the décor in some of the rooms is looking a little tired, my room didn't have a plug in the bath for example and their is a overwhelming smell of fish in the lobby (I think because the kitchens for the adjacent bar are nearby). However neither are huge detraction from what is a great value hotel in the heart of DC.

Room Tip: Ask for one at the front of the building for great views of Union Station.
