“cost-effectiveness fits”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2012

We came to this hotel via trip-advisor, we took our reservation by phone in advance. At arrival we learned to know, that parking (at hotels parking lot) is approx. 40 USD per night. Hotels location cant be better if you - as we did - plan to go all the common attractions in Washington (White House e.g. 50 min walk, Georgetown for Shopping 20 min walk), Metro station is 5 min far (approx 2 USD/Person/direction for Metro). Whats worth to mention is their breakfast it was excellent and pricy (12 USD per Person for a perfect breakfast buffet)

This hotel is on the yellow route and almost walking distance to the White House and most other attractions. Very convenient if you an a budget and need to make your own food. The kitchen is well equipped. Kettle, microwave, fridge and stove!!
On the negative side is the fact that the room was rather noisy. Perhaps ask for a quieter room?

Room Tip: Ask for a room higher up. Even on floor 7 it was very very noisy. Mainly traffic sounds.

We stayed here 2 nights and did not really use any facilities but the staff were helpful and cheerful and the room was very clean and spacious. The kitchen area was good but there was no where to sit to eat. A table and chairs in the room or stools in the kitchen area would have been better than sitting on the beds to eat. Location suited us and it is walking distance to Georgetown and the metro stop is close for everything else.

My family embarked on Washington, DC for a family fun trip that included a tour of the White House. I was tasked with finding a hotel. Initially I reached out to the George Washington University Inn (another very nice hotel in DC) however a mistake by the hotel Sales Rep caused our group to miss out on staying there. He recommended their sister hotel and thus we ended up at this great hotel.

There were 28 of us in 10 rooms. The front Staff was very friendly, helpful and patient checking us into the hotel. We were early so not all the rooms were ready. No bother, we went off to begin our tour of DC. By the time we returned all the rooms were ready. By the way, the pictures don't do the lobby justice. This is a boutique hotel and the lobby while small was very nicely set up with comfortable sitting areas. We did a lot of waiting around for family members in that lobby. There was a nice cold container of ice water with lemon. You do need to walk up about 6 stairs to get to the front desk so it can be a challenge but the bellman was very quick to help. There is a handicap elevator/ramp.

The rooms are very spacious, with full kitchens (the kitchens are in their own room. I hate having the kitchen as part of my hotel room). My room had a huge walk in closet that lead to the bathroom. The bathroom was on the small size but by no means inconvenient. Just compared to how large the rest of the room is the bathroom seemed small.

We also had a balcony, which leads to my only complaint - no chairs on the balcony to sit on and enjoy a summer evening.

The concierge was amazing. He got the Big Red tour bus to pick our family up (all 28 of us) from the hotel and drop us off at the route for the memorials. Talk about above and beyond. But that is just how nice the staff was to us all weekend.

A few other things; the food in the restaurant was pretty good. We especially liked the breakfast (order from the menu as the buffet is continental -no hot food). If you have kids or you want to swim bring your bathing suit. Very quaint but nice pool to cool off in. The kids loved it. The exercise room was small but had all the appropriate equipment (including my favorite - the Elliptical).

By the way, you can walk to the memorials and the white house from this hotel. About 10 minutes walk. The metro station is one block away on the other side of the circle. Everything you need nearby (including a Whole Foods, CVS and restaurants). Also, yes, there is some noise from ambulances going to the hospital but honestly, they were never so loud as to disturb our sleep. No one in my group thought they were a problem.

Good location (nearby a metro station and within walking distance from Georgetown) but noisy spot (apart from traffic there is a firemen station in the block behind, and a hospital at the other side of the square). Large, very well equipped rooms (including separate kitchen), with balcony (only drawback, the noisy air conditionning). To sum up, great if you don't care too much about the background noise (my experience in general with hotels is that the air conditionning is always too noisy and traffic around as well, so probably it is not easy to do much better with any other hotel). There is no spa (my assessment for the spa corresponds to the fitness room and swimming pool).

I am writing this as we come off a 5 nite stay at this hotel. We drove to DC from Chicago with 2 kids (12 and 14) and 2 adults. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Our room was on the 9th floor right by the elevator. We never saw anyone on our floor and it was quiet. Since the GWU hospital is a block away there are always ambulances and noise. but we are in DC..this is not the country. We are used to city noise. plus the AC worked great and seemed to minimize traffic noise. The kitchen area was great for us. Stove, fridge, microwave, coffee..could have used a stool in the kitchen to sit on. There was no table other than the desk upon which to eat. They could use a small folding table for a family to use. We ate breakfast each morning which saved $ and time. The room had 2 double beds, big TV and decent bathroom. The maid service was outstanding. we would leave each day by 10am and then return upon 4pm and the room was clean. The area is safe, the hotel is well staffed. We lost NBC one nite (Olympics were on) and within 5 minutes a repair man was in our room and fixed the problem. The balcony could use a table and chairs so we could sit out there. This hotel could use a bit of updating. The carpet was older and the kitchen out of date. but if they make major renovations then the cost will go up too. We would recommend this hotel for sure..I found it online thru travelocity. We looked at over 15 hotels in the area. We wanted a pool and a kitchen and this is the place!! The location is about 1/2mile to Georgetown and 1 mile maybe to Lincoln Memorial area. Trader Joes is around the corner and did I mention how close GTown and Watergate and the river? Great trip. This hotel was perfect for us. With teen daughters they are the most picky and disgusted by anything. but they had no complaints about anything in this hotel. They loved the beds, plenty of space in the room, great bathroom

Room Tip: High floor was very quiet. Elevator was quick too. 2 beds in a room is recommended.

We just got back from spending last night in DC at One Washington Circle Hotel and I have already recommended it to 4 people. We got there prior to noon and expected to be told our room wasn't ready, instead the ladies at the front desk took care of check in quickly and with a very pleasant attitude. We went to check out the room and we were very happy with what we saw. The room was clean and well maintained(2nd floor). My daughter was so excited to sleep on the pull out sofa. The too was a good size and the two ways into the bathroom was convenient. Every time we came and left the hotel the staff was friendly and remembered where we had been and asked output trip. We didn't get to use the pool which bummed my daughter out but I am already thinking about going back. I wasn't worried about our safety in the area, location was near the Metro and we were sad to leave. I would definately stay again. Some of the reviews scared me and we almost chose another property but the price was right and we had a great experience.
