“Almost perfect”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2014

My wife and I stayed at the Graham for a total of four nights, from Jan 31 to Feb 4 for a combination get-away/business trip. While the staff was fantastic and our overall experience was very nice, a couple of things left a lot to be desired. The first two mornings there was absolutely no hot water for our showers. The only explanation that we received was that the hotel was 100% booked and that a lot of people were showering at the same time. That is not an acceptable excuse. If the building plant is up to par, the capacity and volume of hot water should be based upon over 100% capacity. I do not have to take cold showers at home, and certainly don't expect to when I am staying at a high-end hotel. After talking with the front desk about the lack of hot water I also talked with a manager. We were offered a different room, but did not want to move half way through our stay. We were offered no other concession or form of apology, which was disappointing.

The second thing that stood out was that while the Keurig machine in the room was nice, it makes NO sense to only have one caffeinated pod and one regular creamer in a king room (the other creamers were flavors like peppermint mocha). At least two per day would make sense, considering that two guests often share a king room.

While our stay was positive overall, the Graham definitely has some room for improvement.

Room Tip: High floors are nice, and upgrades are commonly available at check-in.

Thank you for your review! I am happy to read that your stay was "Almost Perfect"! Most guests, like yourself, enjoy our Keurig machines for the quality of coffee and ease of use. We place various coffees and teas in the rooms for our guests to enjoy which include a regular coffee, decaf and 2 tea selections with various creamers. We order coffee from all over the world and we would be happy to place a customized selection in your room when you visit us again, hopefully soon!

Very nice hotel. Just a few things to consider: The hotel is very warm and dry. Our room was about 80 degrees the whole time and we never even turned on the radiators. (no AC possible at this time of year they said as it is either one or the other for the entire hotel) We slept with the windows open (they only open about 6 inches by the way) and thus heard all the street noise and light, including beep, beep, beep, garbage pickup in the early morning. The "gym" is just a very narrow small space for only the very desperate to work out. (There was free water in there however.) Front desk staff and doormen were all very nice. Housekeeping was good too. A bit pricey still though for what it is. Also, the promotion of "one glass of wine" is kind of funny to give to a couple checking in.

Room Tip: high floor for less street noise unless you have to open your window…then you're doomed!

Thank you for your compliments. The weekend you stayed here the weather terribly cold and we tried to make the rooms as comfortable as possible, maybe too warm for your personal comfort. We have an on site fitness center with state of the art equipment, 2 televisions and chilled water for your enjoyment, for more strenuous workouts, we are one block away from some of the most amazing running, walking and jogging trails in all of DC. I am glad you enjoyed your stay here and we all hope to see you back soon!

My wife and I have "date" weekends a few time a year and prefer boutique hotels like the Kimptons, but have had little success in Georgetown until the Graham opened. We spent only one night as we were going to the nearby Kennedy Center in the evening. This will be our chosen hotel for Georgetown evenings. We liked everything about the hotel, great location, large well appointed quiet rooms, friendly staff both at the desk and the restaurant and good food and drinks. We are already planning our next stay around a Blues Alley evening. The Graham is a welcome addition to Georgetown.

We live in Maryland (about 45 minutes from Georgetown)...so we were looking for a reasonably priced hotel for a winter weekend Staycation. The Graham fit the bill! It is really elegant..spotlessly clean and had the nicest front desk staff that I have ever encountered. We were upgraded to a King Suite..a huge room..beautifully decorated...awesome bathroom. We ordered a room service breakfast that was just ok.Since this is a relatively new hotel I expect that they will be tweaking the room service in the future if they respond to the specific criticisms that I submitted in their online survey. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.Perfect location to easily walk to shopping, restaurants, Blue's Alley Jazz club, etc. Their valet parking is a little pricey...so I recommend using the underground lot that is a ver short walk down the same street that the hotel is on. (24 hour parking there is half of the cost of 24 hour valet parking at the hotel).

Stayed at the Graham last weekend for four nights. What a lovely place! Had a suite, which was quite large, with a nice view of the quaint street below. The staff was excellent and helpful. The shower was terrific. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. I'm not a shopper, so I didn't spend much time in Georgetown. However, the location was easy to catch various buses from and near a terrific running trail along the canal. Great gourmet grocery down the street. Terrific romantic little hotel.

Georgetown is a beautiful area and the Graham is a delightful hotel with attention given to comfort and quality. The suites are very spacious and tastefully decorated. The beds are comfortable, and the room dark and quiet. Suites have a large comfortable lounge area and a second tv. There is wireless access is the rooms. Parking is an additional cost and expensive. There are a couple of parking stations close by which are a cheaper option if not needing to go in and out during the day. Paid street parking is available for 2 hours. The staff were excellent and housekeeping couldn't be better. There are many restaurants and interesting shops in the area. A ferry terminal (seasonal) and restaurants can be found at the bottom of the street. In the winter an ice rink is open in this area.

I have visited Washington DC many times but this was my first stay at The Graham. The Graham is a relatively new luxury boutique hotel in a great location in Georgetown. It is right in the middle of all the shopping, restaurants, and nice walking trails. The rooms are large and meticulous with a very comfortable bed and a large marble bathroom complete with high end soaps/hair products. The lobby is small but is nicely decorated and smells really good (i don't know how they do it). As an added bonus, the Graham has an amazing rooftop with some of the best views of the city.

I will definitely be back!
