“Had an amazing experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

I have yet to stay at this hotel, but I did get a chance to view the rooms on a tour we had before I held my company happy hour on their rooftop. The rooms are really big and the view on the roof top was amazing and honestly the best in the city. The drinks were priced reasonably and everyone was very accommodating to our needs. I will be telling everyone I come into contact with about the great experience we had and their catering manager Lexie who is a bright spot at this location. If you like pretty strong drinks, with good music, and an awesome view this is definitely your new favorite spot.

A few weeks ago Lexie helped me plan a party and it was wonderful. The sliders were delicious and the drinks were great. She assured me that the couches I reserved were in a good location and she was right. We had a beautiful view of the sun setting over Georgetown.

The Graham is a smart and sophisticated hotel situated in Georgetown - a beatiful and charming, if touristy, DC district. The hotel is smartly furnished to a very high standard and the rooms are large and well-equipped. The staff are also friendly and helpful. It is for all these reasons that I would strongly recommend staying in this hotel.

However, there are flaws: the rooms are oddly shaped with the living area of the suites around the corner from the bathroom in a dark corner and because of this they are rather pointless. Rooms on the lower floors can be very dark due to buildings nearby, obviously there is nothing that the hotel can do about this but ensure you get a room on the third floor or above. The hotel lacks a restaurant, which is disappointing and this lack of facilities probably explains why it is only a four star hotel. On a final note the mini bar was extortionate - $10 for a bottle of water!?!??

Overall a good hotel for a couple of nights in DC.

Room Tip: Third floor or above

Last week My wife I were lucky enough to have stayed at the The Graham Hotel in Georgetown. Let me start by saying the location could not be any better. It is convenient to everything you want access to on M street while remaining tucked away and intimate. Their is so much history to experience in Georgetown and staying at the Graham you start to experience this the moment you walk out the door with it's location being right along the historic C & O Canal and a super short walk from a river view park on the Potomac between the Kennedy Center and the Key Bridge. Perfect for any variety of walk or run.
The hotel itself engulfs you in a intimate boutique feeling the moment you arrive. W stayed in a suite on our visit. The room was spacious and very well appointed with equal room to gather separate from the bedroom. Attractively modern decor that still remains functional and comfy.
The staff could not have been more helpful and generous with their time, attitude, and service all continually delivered with a smile. From the curb to the roof top bar the staff excelled at making us feel welcome, like we were visiting their home. You can eat on the property if you so chose. the food that we had while sitting in at a bar bar downstairs adjacent to a cozy dining room.
All in all I would consider that The Graham Hotel looms very large in the price to value ratio category. Do yourself a favor on your next trip the DC area and stay at the Graham.

Great location. Well intentioned friendly staff. But, a whole bunch of little things made this not one of my best choices. While the bathroom was nice sized the room was very small. The bed was pretty comfy but the room never got cool enough to get a good night's sleep. We were on the 7th floor right off the elevator on a Saturday night and the commotion from the rooftop bar patrons getting on and off the elevator was ridiculous. Had to call room service to get a room service menu delivered to our room, wished the rooms would have had a luggage rack, more than one bar of soap and handles on the inside of the sliding bathroom door.

The location is excellent. It's just steps away from the shops and restaurants on M Street in Georgetown and two blocks away from the water front's bar and restaurants. You couldn't get a better location than this in Georgetown.

The hotel is only 3-month old. The room is spacious, tastefully decorated and has all the luxury I could find in a hotel room. I got a suite even though I didn't request it. For $199 in the center of Georgetown, that's great value.

The hotel has a roof-top lounge with great view. It seems to be the hottest night spot in Georgetown. There was a line outside of the hotel on Saturday night. Hotel guests can get up to the roof top at any time. However, I had to pass the security/bouncer when I got back to the hotel and had to ride with the bar crowds up and down the elevator at night because there's only one elevator for all guests. It's up to you to decide whether that's a plus or a minus.

I had a hard time deciding between a 3 or a 4 for this property. I think if the price point was lower, I would have gone with a 4...

The hotel is in a great location in Georgetown, and they are making efforts to turn it into a swanky spot. However, those efforts are not completely effective. The property feels like an old, frumpy hotel that was refurbished in an effort to rebrand itself. For example, the beds are comfortable and the light fixtures are very cool. However, the rooms themselves are simple squares and the painting/carpeting is very protocol. The service is OK, but I had to ask a couple of times for the small things needed (finding a place to store a bag, etc.). I should note, however, that I got upgraded to a king suite from a standard queen without asking -- that's always a plus.

All in all, if the price drops here and they get a little more time to train the staff, I think it will be a good spot to stay. Until then, though, I'm neutral on it.
