“Great Location and Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2012

Our European vacation was cut short, a relative contacted Capital Skyline and a room was acquired at the last minute for us. The manager went above and beyond to accomodate us and the staff was efficient and very friendly. Our 9th floor room had a nice view of the Capital. The Mall is only a ten minute walk however a free shuttle leaves the hotel several times each morning. The restaurant is pricey but the food is excellent. There is a fast food restaurant 1/2 block away. The rooms were very clean. The gift shop prices are economical. I would not recommend walking at night from the Mall, however a taxi is only about $10-12. I would definitely return to the Capital Skyline when in D.C.

Room Tip: Top floors are desireable. The hotel has a laundry facility.

During our week-long business stay, the staff at the Skyline were amazing: friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Service was seamless, the rooms were clean and the night staff, in particular, went above and beyond to watch out for me. I arrived late after a cross country flight and was greeted by name, and completely taken care of by Lamya and her staff members Jasmin and Al. They were warm, funny and genuine, exceeding my expectations at every turn. When outside merchants were unavailable, they offered an array of other options - up to and including their own help. I wholeheartedly reccomend the Capitol Skyline because of the quality of the staff.

we booked this hotel very late and as far as value for money goes it was a great choice . Large clean rooms and good allround service .
Shuttle bus will take you to all the major downtown attractions which are not really that far away . 15 minute walk but it is beside an extremely busy freeway .
Only downside we felt was being next to the road there was a lot of traffic noise from 4am - 8am so fine if you like an early start .
Didnt eat at hotel but wine list was somewhat limited but otherwise no complaints .

Room Tip: As we had booked late our room choice was not available so we were upgraded to a suite : )

We stayed here one night because it was close to the ballpark and the Courtyard (which is nicer) was booked. It did the job. We were able to park at the hotel and walk 1/2 mile to the stadium which fit our needs. The room was adequate but overpriced. All in all, it did the job without distinction!!!

Room Tip: Higher floors on front side of bldg. have devcent view of Capital.

Stayed at the Skyline for a combined business and pleasure trip. Don't let the 70s decor or the location fool you.
This hotel is just right. Reasonably priced, 2.5 blocks from the metro (rail system), walking distance to the Nationals ballpark and good resturant on premises and for fast food, McD
across the street. Very large, clean rooms with comfortable beds and it is quiet.
Location very close to the Capitol and sightseeing and close to Regean National airport.

Dave, the Director of Operations and his staff are friendly, polite and very helpful. I would
recommend and would stay there again.

The hotel itself shows a little wear and tear, but was very clean. We were so fortunate to be greeted by Dave Loiseau, the Director of Operations of this hotel. Honestly, he MADE our trip to DC. He began by allowing us, and the other couple we were meeting, to check in FOUR hours early! He then took his time to sit down with us; show us what to see and do and provide maps to make sure we did not get lost. We were debating where to have dinner when he told us there was only one restaurant his wife "loved". We decided to try the restaurant "1789" and absolutely fell in "love" as well. I personally am not a food connoisseur but if I would not have made a scene, I would have licked my plate!!! Carol, Bob, David and I would like to say thank you Dave!!! We just hope the hotel realizes what a treasure you are.
One final note... we tried to tip Dave and he just said "No! It was my pleasure!" Now we get to tell you Dave...It was our pleasure to meet you! Thank you for being you!
Fondly
Joyce

Good hotel a little bit out of things but easy to get around once you get metro and circulator information. Clean rooms which are rather nice. Wifi is rather slow, but it is free. Shuttle service is good but get in early, as only 8 seats. Restaurant down stairs is nice but meals are rather small for the price. Decent hotel and would stay again.
