“Basic but good and healthy falafel.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

Menu is very basic and straight-forward, but the quality is very good. Big or small falafel that you can top youself with a variety of mostly healthy veggie options. Good fries as well.

“Falafel hits the spot, staff punches you in the gut.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2012

I live in the hood and have been here a million times. And I will continue to go back because the food tastes great and value is spot on. BUT, every time I go there, the staff ringing our order is rude. Every single time! I really don't get it, but it is truly annoying. Anyway, good local fast bite.

“Delicious & cheap falafel pita!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2012

I love the concept of this place! You can choose between white or whole wheat falafel pita and then you pick up your own garnishes (self-serve) and you can go back for more condiments as much as you like. There are no plates, so you will have to grab enough napkins because eat this thing can be a delicious mess! Regarding the place, its very little with just a couple of tables that makes you uncomfortable when there is too much crowd. You have to know, this is an eat and go place. About the staff is very friendly and the prices are very good.

“It just works!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2012

AFS is great for an "in the neighborhood" kind of snack, or a late night drunk buzz meal. I like to stop by at least once when I am in that area. The people there are very friendly, and the staff is always up to a good laugh or two.

Just dont redip...it will get you a tounge wagging. I like the prices, and wish they would open in other parts of town as well...like in DuPont Circle.

“Ok food; horrible place”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2012

My friend and I went there on a Sunday evening when there was not too much crowd. The main reason for us to go there was because some of the reviews claimed it to be the best place in the world and we wanted to try it out. The concept was ok where we had to pick up our own garnishes and put it on the sandwich. But as we were doing it the guy went off to clear the garbage and then came back and started talking to other people who seemed to be regulars there. When we asked him to pack us our sandwiches he did it as if he was doing us a huge favor without any semblance of courtesy. He also gave us only one order of fries when we has ordered two. The food was ok but with a place like this and such terrible staff I don't think anyone would want to go back to this place. While we were waiting for our order we saw this another person who has ordered fries but was not given with his order. After asking the person at the register twice and failing to get it he just went behind the counter himself and got it. And what's with no forks and napkins? Inefficient, uncouth and unfriendly staff, dingy place with ok food.
