No question that Black Salt is a solid 4 or 5 star restaurant in the Palisades area of D.C.
(near Georgetown). We arrived for our early bird reservation on a Saturday night after driving about 20 minutes from our hotel near the Capitol. Parking is available on the street with 2-hour limit meters so bring some quarters with you. We walked in and had to maneuver ourselves through a wind screen of green curtains which protected the workers at the fish counter. This is a nice seafood market with an attractive display of fresh seafood ready for cash and carry or to eat in. Then we passed through the raw bar which was filled with happy oyster men and women eating their briny bivalves.
The next room was a casual eatery with bare top wooden tables. We walked further and finally reached our destination in the back dining room which had white tablecloths and a nice quiet atmosphere. There we dined on salads, shrimp cocktails and glorious fresh fish and vegetables. We had the whole Bronzino times three and one crusted cod. All four entrees were excellent as were the vegetables that accompanied them. You could tell by our empty plates that we liked what we ordered.
The service was excellent and so was the dessert - key lime pie with blueberry sauce - yum, yum! We had tea and coffee to top off the dinner and paid our check. Let me warn you that your credit card will melt a bit from the total of the meal but you will realize you dined near Georgetown and had an excellent meal.
The restroom was clean and well stocked -one of the nicer ones I've visited. I highly recommend Black Salt Fish Market and Restaurant for an excellent seafood meal.
