“Perfect for the New Year!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013

This was a perfect local getaway for New Years! The Pinnacle Room was amazing and Resh was very helpful! I also recommend the in-room massage service. Also, make sure you try the homemade granola mix. From the fireplace to the awesome book collection IN THE ROOM, to the great location - it was perfect! I will return!

Fantastic place near by all the good restaurants.

Pros:
Friendly staff.
Easy to get around (metro and city bike near by)
Great restaurants near by (oysters and French)
Walkable to Adams Morgan

Minimal cons:
It's right next to a big intersection. Thus a little noisy.

It wasn't a big deal and
Really enjoyed the stay.

Thanks DuPont

Stayed there just before Sandy checked into Washington. When selecting your room make sure to ask for a room with street view. Rooms on the inner-side are VERY VERY noisy due to the airconditioners located outside. A got one of the inner-side rooms and was unable to change rooms unfortunately. Breakfast was very good and the bar seems to attract a lot of outside traffic. Would go back to the hotel for a next stay in DC....

Room Tip: When selecting your room make sure to ask for a room with street view. Rooms on the inner-side are V...

I had stayed at this hotel yrars ago when it was run-down and drab. It has been completely gutted and is now beautiful and conveniently located. It is sleek and modern. The staff are helpful and well-trained. the rooms are laid out in a convenient format.

Room Tip: ask for a room away from dupont circle. It will be quieter.

I was looking forward to a very welcoming experience after reading some of the previous reviews but apart from the lady setting up breakfast every morning there were no members of staff to ask questions of and no-one to talk to except for a couple of other customers. The breakfast was reasonable for the price but I was disappointed with the Cuban room on the 1st floor which I had to struggle up to with my case late at night. The bed was so high that although I am 5ft 5ins I had to climb on a chair in order to get on the bed. It is very well situated and quiet but I would not stay there again.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2012

My husband and I spent 3 nights in DC for the July 4 holiday. We walked to the Mall everyday to see the sights. It is definitely walkable but quickly got old after the first day of 100 degree heat. We ended up taking cabs back everyday. We tried the Metro but it cost nearly as much as the cab and still required some walking. We stayed in the Cuban room which was very small. The bathroom was larger but rather dated (early 80s maroon/pink). The room decor was quaint and to be expected of a B&B. The sheets were high thread count and the bed was comfortable. Maid service was good but pretty sure they did not change the sheets - no big deal as only 3 nights. The toiletries were sub par; just bring your own. Breakfast consisted of coffee, milk, juice, yogurts, small selection of berries and citrus, and Costco pastries. Our last morning there we came down an hour or so after breakfast ended and the staff offered to set up more just for us which we were surprised as an earlier review said they were pretty strict with breakfast time. Other mornings we enjoyed chatting with the other guests about the sights. I was disappointed by this breakfast as the only one other B&B I ever stayed at had full hot breakfast a la carte with homemade pancakes and croissants - yum. I typically enjoy hotels over B&B and better deals can be had for the DC hotels than this B&B. This was the same price as a hotel without as much service (ie. 24/7front desk support, room service). Some folks like the intimacy and home feel but we like the crispness of hotels.
