“So much better with the tour guides”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013 via mobile

Me and my children had such a wonderful time on big bus tours. The audio isnt as interesting as the tour guides. I had a few tour guides but the best one was Ty and bus driver lenni. Ty passed out candy and key chains I she was the only tour guide whi did that. She was very conversational with the guest. She was also very funny and informative.i love her views on the indian museum. It also rained and she passed out ponchos. Lenny was great also. I like that he drove slow when approaching the low tree areas. I reccomend big bus tours. If you are looking for a great tour guide ask for or ty and the bus driver lenny or moise louis

“Great way to see the sights in Washington D.C.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013

We took our family to Washington D.C for our summer vacation. Under advice from a friend who lived there I purchased a 48 hour pass, we also purchased the night time tour. This is a great way to see the city. The ability to get on and off the bus which stops
at all of the major sites is great. On all the buses which are clean and nice they have narration that describes the sites in great detail. They also offer free panchos which come in very handy in D.C. where it rains more often than in Seattle. The night tour was extra but it was very worth it, Darnell was a great tour guide and seeing the city at night was very beautifull. With the 48 hour ticket you also get free passes for a 50 minute boat ride on the Potamac, the Crime and Punishment museum, and the wax museum. Big bus tours are a great value and a great way to see a city.

“Good routes for hop on hop off”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013 via mobile

We liked the sites and the concept but with detours and road closing we walked farther than we rode that day. Tour guide #1 was mumbling and the other 4 were taped audio. Better than walking all day but not by much.

“Family Vacation 3 days in Washington DC”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013

We purchased 48 hour Big Bus tour... but only used pass for 1 day as the second day we walked to most attractions because the wait time for the bus was so long over 30 minutes or the bus didn't show up. One bus also broke down therefore had to wait longer for the next bus.

There was no Big Bus signs at bus stop #49 or #51 on the green line, wasn't sure if we were at the right spot #49 therefore waited for 30 minutes at the corner of Connecticut/Calvert and no big bus showed up only other orange trolley came around. We finally decided to walk up to the Cathedral.

When we purchased our tickets we were not advised what to expect... ie what buses we can take, where to look for the stop on the streets or that they supplied headphones to listen to audio commentary..... bad customer service. We had to figure all this on our own. On the last day of our tour we were told that all double decker buses were from their company. We thought the other double deckers buses were from another tour company therefore didn't get on them.

Online purchases you could get a 10% discount only for Tuesday & Wednesday.

My suggestion is that you only need to purchase 24 hour pass. Stay on bus for the tour and transfer to other lines. Only hop off at the Zoo, Cathedral or Arlington Cementary, if these are some of the sights you want to see. The next day use the Metro rail, purchase an all day pass $14 to get to other attractions.

“Good deal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2013

Spent a few days at Hyatt Regency and wanted to see some sights. Traveling with a 12 and 13 year old so this tour was perfect. Just as they were getting tired we would hop on and ride to our next museum. Picked up the bus right outside hotel and got to see everything we wanted to. Did not find that we waited too long for the next bus and the guides were both friendly and informative. We did the Patriot tour and found it more than adequate for a days tour. Would certainly use this service again. Bonus..air condition even though on one leg we did ride on top.
