“Remarkable hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013 via mobile

I was expecting high standards and that is what we got. After a nightmare of a journey caused by a BA cancellation and then 2 hours in US immigration, Raymond graciously waited up to let us in at 11.00pm. It was very kind. We had a beautiful room and excellent shower room; Laura and her staff looked after us for a wonderful 6 days. We enjoyed the conversations over breakfast and wine in the evening , the ever present coffee and snacks and any help that was needed was there. We loved the location slightly out of town and found it very easy to get in and out once we had mastered the metro ticketing machines. There are several restaurants within walking distance to try...our favourite was La Tomate. The only possible improvement I can think of is to have some fresh fruit available with the snacks but that is being picky. On Sunday morning if you are there then there is a great farmers market at the end of the road so you can buy some there, otherwise it seemed slightly tricky to find! Thank you very much to Laura and Raymond for a great week.

We recently returned from a wonderful stay at the Embassy Circle Guest House. Beautiful, spotless, comfortable room, light but lovely breakfast (coffee perfection), brownies and cookies in the afternoon, followed by wine/beer every night and "AMAZING" appetizers on our last evening. Not to mention stimulating, funny, interesting conversations with other guests from all around the world. Easy access to the metro and many great eats and shops. Always someone there to answer any question we might have regarding the area, transportation, and touring suggestions. The title of this review sums it up. If you are in DC area, stay here and you will find yourself hoping you next travel destination has someplace to stay just like it.

This inn is absolutely wonderful! The house itself is just beautiful, the rooms are elegant and comfortable, the hosts are warm and friendly, the staff is super helpful. And the location is great - the neighborhood is beautiful and feels very safe, and there are tons of really nice restaurants within walking distance. Overall, I think this was the perfect place for us. We were able to get to the National Mall and the museums fairly easily by subway (the DC metro is clean and easy to use), and then every evening we would come back to the inn, relax at cocktail hour, and walk out later to a lovely dinner. Of all the inns and B&Bs we've stayed in, this one is without a doubt the best!

Ray and Laura are the best of hosts. The standards they keep at the B&B are second to none and you would think that with these standards the place would feel a little stuffy, quite the opposite. Laura and Ray make you feel at home from the moment you arrive until you depart. I was traveling alone and they were kind enough to invite me to out to dinner with them and another traveler. They even provided an insiders tour of DC at night! Though, I know it's impossible, I wish they had a resort in every great travel destination and that the two of them would be there to greet you.

We had a 5 day week in DC for Business, we travel a lot and are tired of luxury chain hotels... This place is awesome.... breakfasts are wonderful, lots of interesting guests, large rooms, nice wine and nuts before dinner and lovely innkeepers... if you cannot get a room here, try their other establishment.. you will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: All rooms are great, if you want to pay a little less ask for a smaller room, otherwise do as we did...

My husband and I wanted to stay in a B&B after our stay at the Foley House in Savannah. I worked in hotels for 15 years and to me they are like staying in a hospital. Cold and sterile. I love the welcome home feeling you get from a B&B. So when it was decided I was going with him on a personal business trip to DC I immediately looked for a B&B. I read the reviews for the Embassy Circle Guest House and liked what I saw. I didn't want to stay to close to the hussel and bussel of the main attractions but not to far away either. This B&B looked perfect and it was. The staff everyone of them were so welcoming. Called us by name over and and over and over again. They assisted with any and every need with had gladly.
The room was very clean and comfortable. Beautiful artwork! Furnishings were perfect!
Every morning we were greeted to a warm cooked breakfast along with breads, cereals, fruit, juices, coffee and teas.
At night after a long day of seeing the sites it was so nice to come "home" to relax in the foyer and talk with other house guests about their day and their travels. I would slip on my house slippers and run down stairs to either read but mostly looking for a glass of wine and a chat with Raymond (one of the owners. His wife Laura was away on vacation) or another guest staying in the house.
It was perfect!

Superlatives abound when you read the reviews about the Embassy Circle Guest House. Having stayed there for 4 nights in Nov/Dec 2012, I know them to be all true.

The location is convenient and safe, the home is beautifully decorated and serves delicious breakfasts, but most importantly, the hosts, Raymond and Laura, are gracious and welcoming. They were able to give us advice on public transport, places to visit and the best restaurants to try, say, if we wanted to have foie gras or tuna tartare. This goodwill that is shown by Raymond and Laura and their team promotes goodwill amongst their guests as well. We looked forward to breakfasts when we could share a little of our experiences with people from all around the world.

Thank you for a wonderful time in DC. We'll be back if we're ever in town again.

Room Tip: We were in the Red Kashan room which is on the ground floor near the front door. This is very conven...
