“Horrible service and raw eggs!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2012 via mobile

Went there for breakfast while in town for a wedding. Took 20 minutes to get our cold coffe and an hour for our 2 hard boiled eggs and toast. Our server kept reassuring us only a few more minutes but right when we got up to leave the manager brought our almost raw eggs and cold toast. They comped our meal but was just a horrible way to start the day!

“Great Cafe - love lunch here!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

I love the ambience of Kafe Leopold- and sitting outside for lunch in their charming courtyard in Cady's Alley is a favorite. Staff is attentive and food is delicious always. Schnitzels, sausages, salads to die for. Can't wait for the next excuse to be in Georgetown for lunch!

“Felt like we were in Europe!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

My husband and I were visiting DC for our annivesary weekend. A local mom and daughter recommemded this restaurant to us for breakfast the morning of our anniversary. It was a great find. Tucked away on a side street in Georgetown. We sat outside and enjoyed eggs and toast and shared a crepe with lindenberries and goat cheese a special of the day. Fun atmosphere and good service!

“Outdoor dining at an Austrian cafe in the middle of DC!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012

A friend and I wanted to sit outside and enjoy one of the early-fall balmy nights in the Nation's Capital. We ventured to Georgetown, and as we were walking by Cady's Alley, stumbled onto Kafe Leopold. It's hidden in an outdoor "square" in Cady's Alley, the way european squares appear out of nowhere as you walk down a narrow street. We were able to get a table outside. The place was packed! The menu was elaborate, from soups, appetizers, specials of the day, seafood, schnitzel, hand made desserts and an abundance of coffee options. We started with one of their signature cocktails. We both had the salmon and corn bisque, which was the soup of the day. I had the grilled Branzino, and my friend went for his first ever veal schnitzel. We were so full by then, that we shared a dessert: a Fraisier, ( pistachio and strawberry). Yum! We finished off the meal with a capuccino each- though my friend added kahlua to his.
The entire experience was sublime, it felt we were indeed in a small town square in Europe. The service was efficient and knowledgeable, and guided us through the selections.
I cannot wait to go back.
