Very clean and and nice furniture...that's WAAAAYYY too big for the small rooms. Convenient to the Yard and the Nats. Little hike to 8th street to eat, but worth it. The lounge is small, but decent with reasonable prices. Would stay again.

Room Tip: Higher is quieter.

I stayed here with a class of roughly 30 classmates. The staff there was very helpful providing us with directions on how to arrive at specific locations. My group arrived at the hotel at around three in the morning after a very long and delayed plane ride, and they were very accommodating and helpful during this frustrating time frame. The location was very close to a metro station so getting to actual attractions was very easy. However, the surrounding area was a little sketchy and somewhere I would not have felt safe walking around had I not had a large group with me.

The rooms were decent and the bed was very comfy. my room had a couch and a mini fridge which was great for having little gatherings of friends while there. The pay per view movies were an outrageous price, like at least $15 to watch the hunger games, so skip that. There was a CVS right down the street which was very convenient.

Breakfast was included and there was decent selection. Be very careful that you do not lose your ticket that the hotel requires you to present when you finally do decide to eat breakfast, one of my classmates lost his and had a difficult time trying to get another one.

The bar was decent, a little pricey but you're in DC so it should be expected.

Overall, a pleasant stay.

Me and my fiancé are currently staying at this hotel and we have to say we are very pleased. We got a great price for 3 nights and as soon as we arrived we were given a nice warm welcome and advice on locations to visit by the hotel manager at front desk.
I have to admit the pricing for valet parking at the hotel is expensive, however the manager was more than aware of this and gave. us advice and information on other places we could park instead. We did however opt for the hotel parking as it was less hassle and we knew our car would be safe and secure. People say it is far from Washington, D.C. And inform people on getting the subway. However me and my fiancé found it easier and cheaper to walk! It's only a 15 minuet walk to the peace monument (us Capitol) and this is actually where you should tart your sight seeing from, working your way to other monuments and museums. There is a cvs pharmacy store about a 40 seconds from the hotel that sells bottled water, cigarettes, etc. and also a Starbucks but Starbucks is also sold within the hotel. The hotel has free wifi. It's states online when you log in from the hotel that it lasts for one day, however the hotel manager assured us that you simply log back on for the free Internet whenever you want. Which was great! Infact we are using the hotel Internet now. Rooms are clean and spacious Overall a great clean and well located hotel in Washington, D.C.

This Courtyard Washington Capitol Hill Navy Yard hotel is in an excellent location. It is within walking distance to the Washington Nationals ballpark and one block from the Navy Yards Metro Station and also CVS drugstore. Also, there is an ice skating rink one block away (in the wintertime). The room was comfortable and spacious and not cramped. The television was a flat screen and not an old tube tv. The staff was pleasant and friendly as well.

We checked in and parked our car in the parking garage below the hotel building. Even though we were told that this was "valet parking," no valet attendant parked our, we had to do it ourselves. But we had to leave our keys with the attendant because they insisted. One hour later, we needed our car to attend a wedding, so thinking I could save time, I called the hotel front desk to have valet bring the car around and have it waiting. No can do, I was informed - I had to go down and get my own car. Fine. I gave the valet attendant my ticket, and wouldn't you know it, my keys were missing. Twenty-five minutes later and still no keys, now we were totally late for the wedding. The hotel staff had no clue what to do, and they even disavowed any association with the parking garage company - even though the garage is inside their building and they direct all guests to park there!

We finally made the hotel call a taxi for us to take us to the wedding, and made the hotel pick up the taxi fare. Our car keys were finally found in a valet attendant's coat pocket - he had gone home with our keys! At least the hotel didn't charge us $25 for the parking fees, it was the least they could do to compensate us for making us late to the wedding and wasting our time jerking around searching for lost keys.

When we checked out the following day, we asked for a later checkout and was told we could stay until 2:30pm. Around 2pm, we received a call from front desk asking why we hadn't checked out yet. I told him we had until 2:30pm and he said that was a mistake, we shouldn't have been given permission to check out so late. I told him it wasn't my problem, take it up with his manager. Ridiculous!

Total incompetence, through and through. Not to mention the bed we had in our room was the worst I'd ever slept in. It sagged in the middle and gave my husband a cramp in his legs all night. Terrible, terrible, terrible. Would never stay here again. Too many other better hotels in the DC areas.

Dear Ms. MindylePooh-

Good day and thank you for your feedback. First off I would like to apologize for any confusion that you had with the hotel's parking procedure. At this moment the Hotel does not offer or advertise that we provide valet parking. Any guest who chooses to park in the garage would have to, after check-in, drive their car to the garage. Once in the garage the attendant will park their car and hold on to the keys. This is done due to the size constraints of the garage and that some cars will need to be parked on lifts. Once the car is parked, the guest will receive a parking claim ticket which in turn they will need to present to the garage attendant whenever they want to retrieve their car.

Secondly, while I can understand how the actions of the parking attendants in the garage can influence your perspective on the hotel's staff, we are in fact two separate entities. The garage is not property of the hotel nor is it staffed by the hotel; we do however, have access to a limited amount of parking spots which are reserved for our guest’s convenience.

The garage attendant’s action was unacceptable and we do take it personally. While incidents are few, we try our best to do whatever it takes to remedy any problems ASAP. In your cases, it does appear that one of the hotel staff members "owned” your issue by providing you with complimentary taxi service to the wedding and by waiving parking fee.

If there is anything else that I can do to assist you on this matter, please bring it directly to my attention.

Best

There are a myriad of choices in DC. This one near the Navy yard is a good one. Lots of new construction going on in this part of the city. The hotel is very nice, parking is available, and several good choices for dining are within easy walking distance. I had a problem with the in-room wireless internet connection-the staff member who helped was determined to fix it-and did! Can't beat that.

My wife, my cousin and his wife and I stayed there the second week in April. The staff were extremely courteous upon check-in, and gave advise with parking in the area, but was able to get a pass for the garage on the backside of the building. The rooms were very comfortable and always clean. The location was perfect for us -right near the Navy Yard, the Marine Corps HQ, and very near the Metro station. When we needed a Taxi, the wait was very short. The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood. We really enjoyed the delicious food and supper friendly staff at the Bistro on the first floor. It was simply a pleasure to be at this hotel. we spent 4 nights there and on our next trip to D.C., we will stay there again.

Room Tip: Try to check in as early you can so you may still get a parking spot in the garage in the back of bu...
