The problems started when we checked in. We had reserved and printed a confirmation of 2 beds. We have a teen boy and girl. We were given a room with a king bed and told that was it !! The women at check-in said the hotel has no roll aways. The look on her face and her tone of voice was nasty and very unpleasant. She made NO attempt to do anything. That's what you get - that's it !
Hallway was smelly - not fresh and the wallpaper was marked. The room was nothing special, appeared clean. We ended up putting cushions on the floor from the pullout and requested sheets and pillows. My son slept on the floor. I was grossed out wondering how clean the carpet was, but he didn't seem to mind to much.
The buffet breakfast has a lot of options- omlet station was great. We were all able to find something to eat. We are early risers and still the lines were long (15 minutes was the shortest wait). One morning the line was so long it snaked around the dining room. As you ate you had people standing around you as they waited in line. Not great to eat when you have people surrounding you waiting in line to eat. At no time was a second dining room opened.
We called to report a problem with our room safe. It's never a good sign to have duck tape covering the battery compartment. Every day for 4 days we had to call and wait for someone to come up to the room and "fix" it. Finally on the 4th day the guy who came could not fix it. We waited while he took the safe out and installed another one. We did not want to leave a laptop and other items in the room unattended, nor did we want to lug it around D.C. all day.
He did send us a "movie gift basket". It had bags of popcorn, cookies and a cerfiicate for a free movie. Of course at check-out the movie was charged to the room and I had to stop by the front desk and have it removed.
Location is convenient, close enough to walk to the metro and if you are walkers you can do many attractions.
