“Visit if you are in Georgetown”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2010

We stumbled upon the Old Stone House while shopping in Georgetown and had a very nice experience. The house was built in the 1770's and appears to be very close to original on the inside. It was a chance for the kids to actually see and feel something old and historic without having to touch it. It was put into perspective when we were walking away from the house and my 12 year old son looked up at another building that had the date 1889 on the top and he said "just think, when they were building this building in 1889 they were probably all amazed at the old stone house that was built OVER 100 YEARS AGO!!!"

“Interesting history”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2009

I enjoyed stopping to see the Old Stone House. It really doesn't take long to see it, but I found it fascinating to be in the oldest structure in DC. If you're into that type of thing - the history and the architecture of a place, imagining what it must have been like to be those people at that time in that place - you'll want to meditate here for a minute or two. The gardens are lovely, too!

It is off the beaten path of sites, unless you are staying in Georgetown.
