“Ok but used to be better”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2009

If your going to the tidal basin you must see hains point too. It used to be wonerful with a hand sculpture (which has now been moved in the new harbour) now its a park that drug deals often happen in dusk but during the day its ok. Nice relaxing walk. you can see the planes taking off and landing from national its nice and peaceful as the crowds dont venture donw here much. ALso the fish market is acros the way, nice unknown park out of the way.

“Tucked Away Park”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2007

Away from the traffic and bustle of the monuments is a peninsula that separates the Anacostia River from the Potomac. Lined with cherry blossom trees, it's a great drive when they're in full bloom. On a nice day, it's a great bike ride from the monuments. There are picnic grounds and plenty of room for kids to run around.

It's not uncommon to see people fishing along the river here, and children climbing on a large statue entitled "The Awakening." Family friendly, there are great views across the water towards National Airport on one side and the National Defense University on the other.
