“Faded and Indifferent”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2010

Ate at the cafe upstairs, used to be great. Over a decade ago.

Still decent fish, but ordered a chirashi, and my "mock" crab mocked me by still including the plastic wrapper. So... an edo sushi experience where you are chewing on a strip of plastic. Yuck.

Absolutely indifferent service, seated by a window that didn't close, o'cha a glass of tasteless brownish water. O'cha is free and worth every penny that you don't pay for it.

Some sort of a trustafarian chef with dreadlocks and service which really seems utterly disinterested, mostly watching TLC on TV as to good food places. Which this isn't one anymore. Too bad, used to be great.

“Absolutely awful”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2010

This place is terrible, the waitresses and bartenders are incredibly rude and the place itself is an absolute dump. Do not go here unless you are looking for a terrible time.

“great Kobe beef tartar, funky place”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2009

We just happened on this place because it was close to our hotel. We did not have sushi. My husband had Kobe beef tartar and it was delicious. He had another appetizer that was OK. I had the lamb chops (not exactly Japanese), and they were quite good, came with rice and vegetable and nice sauce on the meat. Folks would probably love or hate this place. Decor is kind of weird, with white netting around the booths. It was kind of early on a Tuesday, and we were the only customers there. Our waitress was quite nice and attentive. Other reviewers have said the sushi is good, but the regular menu is not strickly Japanese. Prices were very reasonable.
